19 Day’s enthusiasm for searching the deserted village with Andreas diminished that evening. He made a new plan, one about which he felt excited as soon as he had decided on it. Day liked the mountain village of Apeiranthos. It was a uniquely charming place, and there was a café he was particularly fond of, although he would not have time to linger there today. He had formed a fresh conjecture concerning one of Apeiranthos’s residents, and he planned to call on them uninvited. The drive would take only fifteen minutes following the road from Filoti past the Di Quercia Tower. He was in no rush.
