CHAPTER 10
Ginger stumbled out of the bathroom, surprised that Max wasn’t sitting outside the bathroom door as usual.
She snuck a glance over at the couch, half-hoping Eli was still asleep so she could look her fill without feeling self-conscious about it. Damn, that guy was fine. She had no idea what he did for work, but she was willing to bet he didn’t sit at a desk all day.
Wait a minute. Where was he? A frantic scan of the cabin revealed no sign of him, or Max. “Max? Treat!” If they were here, Max would come running. But nothing happened. Eli must have taken Max out for her morning pee, which explained why Ginger hadn’t been woken up by the usual tongue bath on her face. That’s sweet.
