Week 5: How to design conflicts

The minute I wake up I find Joseph sitting next to me on the bed inside his plane. Someone drugged me and I'll find out who did.

"You fell asleep outside so I brought you in. I'm sorry because of my nightmare you didn't have a good sleep" Joseph said looking down not facing me.

"Hey it’s not your fault at all. I’ve been working late from the past few days. Though this nap has given me some energy. We should eat now" I lied to him partly I wasn't sleeping but I won't tell Joseph that I was drugged until I find the real culprit.

He smiled "thank you well should you come out with me we could eat something. I think the landing is not for another half hour” Joseph said while getting up from the bed.

"I’ll be right out give me a moment please. Thank you Joseph" I said smiling at him.

He’s not aware of the danger and it shall remain that way. Juliana, that air hostess I’ll question her first when we land after sending Joseph somewhere safe. Whoever put that b***h up to this has to be targeting Joseph and just trying to get rid of me first.

I have to rule out all possibilities that could be. I walked out of his bedroom to fix myself something to eat. Okay so there's vegetables, cheese, and bread. Okay sandwich it is. I fix two plates getting one for Joseph not that I like him or something but I want company to eat today. Plus after today until my mission ends the person who makes the food will be made to eat it first before Joseph or I do. I know a lot of people would be like I should taste it but if it’s poisoned it would weaken me and I won’t be able to protect whoever I am meant to protect. It’s honestly stupidity trying the food you know is poisonous thinking you are saving them but you are only putting them in more danger without proper protection. I walk back to the sitting area and hand him the plate to eat still lost in my thoughts.

Joseph looks surprised like he never had someone make anything for him but it went away quickly and he smiled thanking me politely and eating. I eat my sandwiches and soon we hear the pilot telling us to prepare for landing. The air hostess and the third pilot have been in the pilot's cabin for a while. Weird. Wait I get up and move towards the cabin to find... everything normal. The air hostess is kissing idk which pilot while the other two concentrate on getting us down there safely. I walk back out grossed out a little bit they could wait for the plane to land before sucking faces in the privacy of a square or rectangle box we call a room.

I return to my seat and soon we land as the air hostess comes out.

"Boss the plane has securely landed you can safely make your way out" she said pointing at the open panel of the plane that had stairs attached to it. Joseph smiles and nods his head thanking her and looks at me asking me to go first.

"After you Miss. Devereux" I just nodded deciding that I'll cover for Joseph till we reach the car. Satisfied with my thoughts I walk out making sure he's close to me and walk down the steps towards his black tinted car. I narrow my eyes stopping Joseph.

"What's wrong?" He asked but before I could reply I saw a hand extending towards us slowly. I pull out my gun and shoot. I watch as my friends here in this location pull out his body giving me a smile that said we got it go ahead. I walk Joseph towards the car to sit inside while I make a small round around the car to find any more threats. Satisfied I turn and open the front door going to sit in the front but Joseph tries stopping me.

"Please sit with me in the back Alina" he used my name as there was no one else in the car the driver was outside the car.

I nodded and signalled to one of the bodyguards with us to come.

"I want you sit in the front seat okay W?" I told him as he nodded and sat down in the front seat while I sat in the back.

The driver sat down and started the car. I watched as we moved out of the airport the scenery changes to beautiful grasslands. A huge sign board that said welcome to Mexico.
