Chapter Three

675 Words
I'm sorry sir, but who are you? I have never seen you here before and this meeting is only for those of the higher power tonight. Looking into my eyes, this man leaned down to whisper in my ear and said that without him there'd be no higher power in this city or world. That should have scared me or at least put some fear into me, but it didn't. It went straight down to my core, which was no wetter than it has ever been. I just swallowed and let out a little whimper that only he heard and with that he smirked at me in the evils of ways I thought that I was done, but no, he just put his hand out to me and whispered once again Viktor ma'ma. My jaw dropped. I was at a loss for words because this man had never been seen by the public to my knowledge, and yet he was so powerful in more ways than one. I asked him for his drink order and showed him to his seat. After a few minutes to get myself back together, I brought their drink orders out to them, and then took their food orders. I couldn't help but stare at Viktor again. He's so perfect and when I look at him, there is this pull to go to him, but I doubt he feels it too. It's all just one sided, I bet you. Because no man with that much wealth and power would ever look at a server girl like me and think she was pretty, I'd date her or be seen in public with her. When I came back with their food, I couldn't help but notice that he was staring at me and not paying attention. That's when Jackson cleared his throat and said,"Viktor, why be here if your not going to pay attention to anything we say. We know you are powerful and this, but these meetings are we know that we haven't crossed one another's paths and start a war." Viktor just cleared his throat and turned a little red. He was embarrassed to have been caught staring at the help. No one wants to be seen with the help so why was he checking me out? I had to step outside for some air. I couldn't breathe inside, I was suffocating. As I stood outside, I wish I had brought my jacket cause it was chiller than when I came in this afternoon. I heard the back door open again. To my surprise, behind me stood the one and the only Viktor. "I know what you have been doing, Beatrice. You think you were smart about it, but when I found out someone is prying into my life, then I wanted to go and see for myself. Like, come on, did you think you'd find anything out on the internet?" I was shocked by his words. I thought no one knew, but at the same time I felt they did know. "I'm just curious about what a guy looked like. It's not like you see guys that look like you often. And besides, I wasn't trying to pry, I was just trying to understand what it's like to work for you guys. I didn't want to screw up and have one of you put a bullet between my eyes. I know how dangerous you all are." This time it was his turn to be stunned by my words. He just smirked and patted my back while pushing me back inside. I didn't understand what he was doing but his touch was burning me up in a way I had never felt before. I let out a small sigh when he had let go of me and kept walking. Why of all the men here tonight did it have to be him that found out? What was he going to do to me? I'm in trouble and once again, my parents' voices ring through my head. You will always cause trouble.
