Emily's eyes widened, a playful smile spreading across her face. "Oh, really? I think I like this story." Tyler leaned in, his voice low. "I think I do too." Their banter flowed easily, the coffee shop buzzing around them. As they talked, Tyler realized he'd never felt this way about anyone. He was drawn to Emily's kindness, her laughter, her authenticity. As they sipped their coffee, Emily asked, "So, what's the plan? Are you going to ditch the dinner party circuit and run away with me?" Tyler's heart skipped. "Tempting. But I think I'll stick with coffee dates for now." Emily laughed, her eyes sparkling. "Fair enough." As they chatted, Tyler's phone buzzed. His mother's text flashed on screen: "Tyler, where's your phone? We need to discuss the gala." Tyler sighed, feeling a twinge of guilt. "Sorry, I gotta deal with this," he said, typing out a quick response. Emily nodded understandingly. "Family stuff?" Tyler nodded, feeling grateful for her understanding. "Yeah. My parents can be... a lot." Emily smiled. "I get it. I've got a family too." As they wrapped up their coffee, Tyler walked Emily out. "Want to do this again?" he asked, feeling hopeful. Emily's smile was radiant. "Definitely." As they stood outside the coffee shop, Tyler felt a flutter in his chest. He didn't want the moment to end. "How about dinner this week?" he asked, trying to sound casual. Emily's eyes sparkled. "I'd love that." They exchanged numbers again, and Tyler walked Emily to her car. As she unlocked it, he leaned against the door. "I'll pick you up at 7?" Emily nodded, her smile teasing. "Looking forward to it." Tyler watched her drive off, feeling like he was floating. He couldn't wait to see her again. As he turned to leave, his phone buzzed. His mother's text flashed on screen: "Tyler, we need to talk about Sophia. She's expecting a call from you." Tyler sighed, feeling the weight of his parents' expectations. He typed out a quick response: "I'll call her later." He knew he needed to deal with this, but he didn't want to ruin the buzz he was on. He pocketed his phone and headed home, his mind whirling with plans for Emily. As he walked in, his mother greeted him, a concerned look on her face. "Tyler, darling, what's going on? Sophia said you two had a lovely dinner, but you haven't called her yet." Tyler took a deep breath, feeling a surge of rebellion. "Mom, I don't think it's going to work out with Sophia." His mother's eyebrows rose. "What do you mean? She's perfect for you." Tyler shook his head, feeling a sense of determination. "I don't love her, Mom. I'm seeing someone else." His mother's face fell, but Tyler didn't back down. "Who is she?" she asked, her voice tight. Tyler hesitated, knowing his parents wouldn't approve. "Her name is Emily. She's a waitress." His mother's expression turned disapproving. "A waitress? Tyler, think about your future..." Tyler's phone buzzed, cutting her off. Emily's text flashed on screen: "Hey, can't wait for dinner 😊" He smiled, feeling a sense of freedom. "Sorry, Mom, I gotta go." Tyler's mother huffed, her face reddening. "Tyler, we're not done discussing this." Tyler nodded, his tone firm. "I think we are, Mom. I'll talk to you later." He walked away, feeling a rush of adrenaline. He knew his parents wouldn't give up easily, but he was done living his life for them. As he texted Emily, his mind whirred with plans. He wanted to take her somewhere special, somewhere she'd feel like a queen. "Hey, how about we try that new rooftop restaurant tonight?" he asked, feeling hopeful. Emily responded instantly: "Sounds perfect 😊" Tyler grinned, feeling like he was on top of the world. He spent the rest of the day getting ready, picking out a shirt, and planning the perfect evening. As he arrived at Emily's place, he felt a flutter in his chest. She answered the door, looking stunning in a red dress, her hair cascading down her back. Tyler's breath caught. "You look amazing." Emily blushed, her eyes sparkling. "Thanks, you don't look so bad yourself." The rooftop restaurant was breathtaking, the city lights twinkling below. They sipped cocktails, their conversation flowing easily. As they ordered dinner, Tyler reached for Emily's hand, feeling a spark of electricity. "I'm really glad I met you," he said, his voice low. 😊 The music pulsed around them, the city lights a blur. Tyler's heart beat in sync with the rhythm, his eyes locked on Emily's. "Want to dance?" he asked, his voice husky. Emily nodded, her smile radiant. As they swayed to the music, Tyler's hand on her waist, he felt a rush of desire. He pulled her closer, their bodies moving in perfect sync. The night air was electric, the stars twinkling above. Tyler knew he was falling for Emily, hard. As the music slowed, he leaned in, his lips brushing hers. The kiss was like a spark, igniting a fire within them. As they pulled back, gasping for air, Emily's eyes sparkled. "Wow," she whispered. Tyler grinned, feeling like he'd won the lottery. "Yeah, wow." They danced some more, lost in the music and each other. The night flew by, the stars fading as the sun began to rise. As they walked hand in hand, the city waking up around them, Tyler knew he'd found his person. "Want to grab breakfast?" he asked, feeling hopeful. Emily smiled, her eyes shining. "I'd love to." Emily's smile was radiant. "Me too." Their food arrived, and they dug in, savoring the flavors. As they finished, Tyler's phone buzzed. He ignored it, not wanting anything to ruin the moment. But Emily noticed, her brow furrowed. "You should get that, right?" Tyler shook his head, his eyes locked on hers. "No, it's fine. I only have eyes for you tonight."
