“They’re going to die like they did.” A soft monotone voice turned Diana’s attention from the empty space before her to the direction of the one who had spoken. For a moment, when their eyes met, her heart thumped for reasons she could not possibly comprehend. Unlike Talia, Diana felt a connection with Talia. Was it because she knew Talia’s demise that she felt this agitation? Was it guilt? Diana did not know.
