[Scene: Returning Home from university – Evening]
third person POV
The door creaked open with a tired shove, and both Trueblood alphas walked in, each step heavy with exhaustion.
Jeonghan barely kicked his shoes off before throwing himself on the couch like he owned it. Taeyoon trailed behind, yawning, his jacket hanging from one arm.
No words were exchanged for a full minute.
This was routine.
Jeonghan didn’t speak unless necessary. Not to strangers. Not to friends. Not even to pack elders. His words were rare, often sharp, and reserved for one person only—Taeyoon.
The calm to Jeonghan’s storm. The only one he ever listened to.
Jeonghan glanced at him, dark eyes scanning. “You okay?”
Tae slumped down beside him, groaning. “My wolf’s an asshole. Controlling him is like wrestling a damn bear.”
Jeonghan let out a sharp chuckle—the kind that always made Tae feel like he was being made fun of. Probably because he was.
“Stop laughing, bastard,” Tae muttered, throwing a pillow at his face.
Jeonghan smirked. “I like your wolf. More than I like you.”
Tae’s jaw dropped. “Wow. I’m offended.”
“I’m serious,” Jeonghan said, still grinning. “No offense. Your wolf is just more like me than you are.”
Tae rolled his eyes but laughed. “I agree. You both are like twins.”
“sometimes it seems like he’s my wolf, not yours.” Jeonghan smiled, rare and soft.
Tae stared at him, quietly watching Jeonghan smile.
—Jeonghan’s cold exterior, sarcasm, smirks, and his rare smile. He was the only one who ever got that side of him.
To everyone else, Jeonghan was cold steel—intimidating, arrogant, and unreachable.
He rarely spoke. And when he did, it was usually to shut someone up or scare them off. No one ever dared approach him directly anymore.
So they came to Taeyoon.
The golden boy. The peacemaker. The translator of Jeonghan’s silence.
Tae was used to fixing the messes. Talking on Jeonghan’s behalf. Calming people after Jeonghan’s glare scared them stiff. And somehow, Tae didn’t mind. He had the patience, the humor, and the heart Jeonghan lacked—or maybe hid.
Jeonghan leaned his head back. “Your wolf’s like me. He only listens to me.”
Tae snorted. “That’s true. He does like you. But not more than me, obviously.”
Jeonghan rolled his eyes. “Yeah, right. Last time we fought and you went full beast mode, gave me a deep wound, your wolf literally took over you and started licking my wound. He seems whipped for me.”
Tae gagged. “Gross.”
“You’re just jealous.”
“Jealous, my ass! You’re a Trueblood—that wound wasn’t even deep. My wolf’s just overprotective toward you. He’s literally puppy.”
As soon as Tae said that, he winced—his wolf clearly didn’t like it.
“Aargh,” Tae grumbled, rubbing his temple.
Jeonghan chuckled as Tae tried to calm the bratty creature inside.
Tae sighed. “Sometimes I feel like I’m the only Trueblood who can’t control his wolf. He’s wild.”
“Feel sorry for you,” Jeonghan said with a smirk. “But it makes sense. You act soft, but your wolf? Savage.”
“Look who’s talking. Your wolf looks like he’s made of shadows and war. And yet, he’s weirdly obsessed with me.”
Jeonghan stretched out with a lazy grunt. “My wolf is smart.”
“Sadly, that smart wolf has a dumb human,” Tae teased.
“Shut up.”
Tae grinned. “Make me.”
Jeonghan shot him a warning glance. “Don’t tempt me to break your face.”
They stared at each other, then burst into low laughter.
Just then, Tae’s phone buzzed. He checked it and sighed.
“It’s Father,” he muttered. “Wants me to come to court. Says I’m the future leader and should learn how things work. And you’re going with me.”
“No,” Jeonghan said instantly, eyes still closed.
“I’ll tell him I’m sick,” Tae replied, already typing. “Don’t wanna go without you.”
“Didn’t know you loved me that much.”
“Don’t flatter yourself, Jeon. I just don’t want to be bored. You’re too antisocial. Or else, I’d drag you with me.”
“You know they don’t like me. Always glare at me like I’m a monster.”
Tae sighed but didn’t argue—he knew Jeonghan was right.
The elders didn’t like him. For gods know what reason, they were always unwelcoming to Jeonghan.
Just then, the doorbell rang.
“Someone else come to disturb us,” Jeonghan sighed with irritation.
Tae chuckled. “Come on. Maybe we have dinner today. I’m starving. And your food’s gross.”
Jeonghan glared. “At least I can boil an egg, you damn third-class cook.”
Tae just smiled, already heading for the door.
Junhee’s POV
Junhee standing outside the house , she smiled as soon she saw Taeyoon
"Tae I miss you"
"Hi Nonna.. is It our dinner.. come inside iam angry"
"Brat I just said.. I miss you and you just asking about food "
Tae chuckle as she shake her head coming inside and found jeonghan in the living room, casually lounging on the floor
"Bunny.. let's eat "
“Tae,” she called softly, smiling as she placed the tray down. “I brought your favorite today. Mom cooked it.”
Taeyoon’s eyes lit up like a child. “Really? I knew it! I could smell the spices. Gosh, I missed this.”
Junhee smiled at her brother but shot a sharp glare at Jeonghan, who was already digging in like it was his house.
' Because of you, my brother is not living with us anymore… selfish bastard.
You’ll learn soon, Jeon Jeonghan. I’ll make sure you do. '
“Tae, eat slowly,” she said sweetly.
“Noona, it’s so good! I’ve missed this so much.”
“If you miss it so much, why don’t you come home, huh?”
she said with a slight edge in her voice. “Mom would love to see you.”
Tae paused briefly, but then gave her a smile. “We’ll come soon, Noona.”
Junhee’s smile froze.
' We? So this Jeon’s coming too? Unbelievable.'
Trying to hide her irritation, she sat beside Tae. “By the way, your birthday is coming up. Appa’s already planning something big.”
Taeyoon frowned. “Why? It’s just a birthday.”
“Dumbo!” she laughed, flicking his forehead.
Jeonghan’s chopsticks paused mid-air.
“Don’t call him that,” he said sharply, eyes narrowing.
Junhee turned, raising a brow. “Excuse me?”
“I said don’t call him dumb. I dont like it”
“The ordacity.. you even called him bastard and what not.. i just called him dumb"
"Still you can't "
"He’s my brother. I’ve known him since birth. Who are you to him? Just some clingy, obsessive outsider psycho.”
Tae’s eyes flashed red showing his wolf displeasure “NOONA, STOP.”
“Why should I?” she snapped. “I’m your family. And you—”
“I said STOP!” Tae shouted, standing up so fast his chair scraped harshly his flunged showing up
As soon as jeonghan saw this , his relax face tense and he get up putting his hands on Tae's shoulder, "calm down "
Tae sighs nodding he close his eyes .. and then stare at his sister
“Jeonghan is my best friend. He’s the one who’s always there for me. I won’t tolerate anyone disrespecting him—not even you.”
Jeonghan leaned back, smirking slightly. The smirk wasn’t for her—it was for Tae’s words.
Junhee’s heart twisted. She sat back, watching the two truebloods exchange vegetables between plates like nothing happened.
Tae even eats vegetables for him...
Trying to change the subject, she forced a smile. “Tae… about your birthday. You will turn 20 soon ”
Jeonghan’s chewing slowed.
she added, sweetly. “That means… you’ll finally be able to smell your mate.”
Tae froze. His eyes slowly drifted to Jeonghan, whose jaw was clenched now, his fists tightening around his chopsticks.
“You’ll finally settle down,” Junhee continued, her smile sharper now. “Get married. Start your life with your mate. Isn’t that exciting?”
The room suddenly grew colder.
BANG!
Jeonghan slammed the table with such force it cracked down the middle, plates rattling off and crashing to the floor.
Junhee jumped, gasping. “Are you crazy?!”
Jeonghan didn’t say a word. He stormed out, shoulders tense, eyes dark.
Taeyoon closed his eyes for a moment before turning to her.
“I told you not to bring that up.”
“Tae, you can’t ignore it forever. You’re going to meet your mate. You can’t live with Jeonghan forever. It’s not… normal.”
He gave her a tired look. “I’m not talking about this. Please leave.”
“It’s not healthy, Tae,” she said gently. “The way he’s so… possessive over you. It’s not right.”
He didn’t answer, only sighed, his eyes distant.
She stood there for a second longer, watching her brother in silence.
She didn’t win this time.
But she was determined to separate them—before her brother became completely lost in Jeon Jeonghan’s shadow.
