Episode 2: The Pull

Mauve’s POV Ever heard about magic?nNot the kind with wands and spells, but something quieter. Softer. More invisible. I used to roll my eyes at people who said they believed in things like “signs from the universe” or “gut feelings.” But lately, I can’t explain what’s happening to me except to call it... magic. There’s something pulling me. It’s not sudden or overwhelming. It’s slow and steady, like a heartbeat. I don’t know what it is or where it’s coming from. I don’t even know if it’s real. But I feel it. And it’s comforting. I haven’t told anyone. Not my family. Not even Lisa. I mean, how do you explain something you can’t see or touch? Sometimes I wonder if I’m just tired. Maybe it’s the pressure. The long hours, the endless studying, the distance from home. But deep down, I know this isn’t burnout. This is something else. Something... meaningful. It’s like a warmth blooming in my chest. On the hardest days, when I want to scream or cry or sleep for a week, it steadies me. It makes me feel like I matter. Like I’m seen even if no one’s looking. Is it from God? Is it a sign? A memory from a past life? I’ve spent nights scrolling through forums, spiritual blogs, articles. I found people who talked about soulmates, twin flames, divine timing. But none of them described exactly what I feel. Because this isn’t about a person. Not yet, anyway. It’s about possibility. Hope. Like something, someone is out there and we’re slowly moving toward each other, even if we don’t know it yet. Lisa caught me zoning out once, mid-sentence. “Mauve! Earth to Mauve. You’re doing it again.” We were surrounded by textbooks, empty mugs of coffee, and the soft hum of a late-night campus café. I blinked, pulling myself back. “Sorry. Just... lost in thought.” “Yeah? Must be a good thought. You looked like you were about to smile.” I laughed and shrugged. “Maybe I was.” Lisa’s the kind of friend who doesn't dig unless you ask her to. That’s why I love her. She just nodded, accepted my vague answer, and went back to highlighting her notes. Sometimes I want to tell her. Tell someone. Say, “Hey, I think I’m being guided. Like I’m on the edge of something big, and it’s not just my career.” But I never do. Because the pull is mine. It’s quiet and personal. Sacred, even. And until I understand it... I want to keep it close. Yun’s POV When I first fell in love with music, it felt like fate. I was fifteen, sitting in my room with an old set of headphones and a half-broken keyboard. I’d just lost someone close to me, and the world didn’t make sense. But music... music gave me something to hold onto. It gave me purpose. Back then, I thought that was the pull. The reason I was here. And for years, it felt true. But now, something’s shifted. Lately, when I sit in the studio, it's like there’s more than sound swirling in the room. There's something else. Something... waiting. Last week, I stayed up all night trying to finish a song. I was halfway through recording when I suddenly stopped. Just sat there, staring at the blank wall, the low hum of the equipment the only sound. “What are you waiting for?” I whispered to myself. It was strange. I wasn’t tired. I wasn’t blocked creatively. I was just... suspended. Like my heart was trying to tune into something that wasn’t quite here yet. I called Jae, my producer and one of the few people who actually gets me. “Do you ever feel like something’s calling you?” I asked him. “Like what?” “I don’t know. Like... something important is out there. Something that belongs to you but hasn’t found you yet.” There was a pause on the line. “I feel it sometimes,” he finally said. “Usually before something big happens.” I let out a breath. “It’s been weeks for me. And it’s getting stronger.” “Then maybe something big is about to happen.” That stayed with me. I wanted to believe it. Because the pull isn’t random. It isn’t just curiosity or longing. It’s personal. Like someone knows me better than I know myself and they’re getting closer. Sometimes when I lie awake at night, I imagine a girl. I don’t see her face. But I imagine her hands. Small. Delicate. Maybe always cold, but soft. I imagine her voice. Calm, like rain on windows. I imagine her looking at me and just knowing without needing words. I’ve never had that. Not even in past relationships. They all ended with confusion, with silence, with people walking away. But this girl? The one I haven’t met yet? She won’t walk away. I don’t know why I believe that. I just do. Mauve’s POV A few nights ago, I woke up from the strangest dream. I couldn’t remember all of it, just flashes. A crowded hallway. A voice calling my name, not loudly, but clearly. The sensation of someone brushing past me, fingers grazing mine. And warmth. That overwhelming warmth again, flooding my chest like a wave. I woke up with tears in my eyes. Lisa was asleep in the next bed. I didn’t want to wake her, so I just lay there, staring at the ceiling, heart racing. I whispered aloud, “Who are you?” The room didn’t answer. But the pull pulsed, gently, inside me. And I smiled. Yun’s POV Today, we had a break between rehearsals. I went to the rooftop, headphones in, pretending to listen to demos. But really, I was just sitting. Feeling. The city below was loud, as always. But inside, it was quiet. Peaceful. I took a deep breath and whispered, “I hope you’re okay.” I didn’t know who I was talking to. But I meant it. Somewhere, out there, I knew someone was waiting for me. Or maybe we were waiting for each other. And soon, the pull would bring us face-to-face. Narrator's POV They don’t know each other’s names yet. They’ve never seen each other, never crossed paths. But their hearts already speak a similar language. Two strangers. Two stories. One invisible thread pulling them closer with every breath. And somewhere in the space between destiny and choice, the moment that changes everything is already unfolding.
