Elena’s POV
It was the same as every other sick rotten day in this pack. I had to get up early to avoid being hit as usual, because if i gavd them that opportunity they wouldn’t waste a second before they pounced.
But maybe today would be a bit different, well not for me. But still rumor still had it that the New alpha will be coming back to take over the late Alpha’s place.
Not like i cared. I let out a long sigh as i mentally prepared myself for the humiliation that was about to come.
As usual i had done my morning chores, and i had to go serve some of the warriors drinks since they had been training all day.
It was a hot afternoon as usual. But for some reason it felt hotter.
It did not take long before i reached the training grounds “Like I practiced, quickly drop the tray and leave” I muttered to myself reached a group and quickly dropped the tray down.
I had picked the least problematic side to approach, since they were better that Aiden and his group which always did everything in their power to bully and belittle me.
"Gosh, I heard the new Alpha is even more scarier than Alpha Alistair Black ever was" One of the warriors said as he took one of the bottle water I had placed for them.
"Yeah, no one has ever seen him, but he already made name"
"Who cares?, he's been away from the pack for 12 years and did not care about us, but now that his parents have passed he suddenly wants to take the title of Alpha" Another warrior said with disdain in his voice.
But for some reason his statement made me think of that boy from years back even though I still could not remember his face no matter how hard I tried.
"Well if you did not care why are you here training your ass off? why not go sleep so that our new Alpha can reward you when he comes" Another one of the guard mocked, I sneaked a peek as I walked passed them.
They all seemed to be training hard. News had it that the new Alpha disliked weak warriors, so naturally no one wanted to get in his path.
I had almost left the training ground, when I saw them approaching me. Aiden and his stupid group.
I did not even think twice and I immediately turned, taking a full step away like someone who saw a rabid animal. But of course fate hated me, because my stupid foot caught on a stupid stone and I almost fell flat on my stupid face. Great. Perfect.
Aiden’s annoying laughter reached my ears before I could even regain my balance.
“Where are you going so fast, Elena. Running to tell someone lies again?” he mocked, like usual.
Why would I tell lies. Who listens to me anyway. I swallowed the comment because I really did not want to get punched today. My ribs were still screaming from yesterday.
“I am busy,” I muttered softly, trying to walk the opposite direction like a scared cat avoiding water.
But did he let me go. No. Of course not.
His thick hand grabbed my arm so fast I actually jumped.
“Busy doing what?” He scoffed as the rest of his friends surrounded me, then Aiden bent down and the moment i felt his hot breath on my ear, I already knew how bad i was about ti be humiliated.
“You’re already a useless omega i have told you countless times to give up working as a maid and be mine, why do you keep ignoring my words,” His arm squeezed mine and I winced in pain as i bit back my tears.
That was another bruise added to my body. But this wasn’t new. I was used to this humiliation and tossing around.
I felt each and every of their eyes on me, they all watched knowing what was happening was wrong. But who cared about a useless omega and who would dare go against a warrior’s son for her.
“Ah so no now you’re keeping me silent is that so?” Aiden asked pulling me closer more aggressively.
“Maybe she likes it and just wants you to claim her here” His friends laughed, they were clearly happy to make a gest of me again today.
Aiden laughed with them, i felt his irritating eyes pull away my clothes off my in broad daylight.
“Aiden please let me go, i have so much to do today” i tried my best to sound brave but all I could do was throw my face to the side hoping not to get hit for speaking up.
Aiden’s hand grabbed my ass like he had the right. Like I was his property he could touch whenever he wanted. My whole body jerked and something inside my chest just snapped.
“Don’t touch me,” I said, but it came out louder than I expected. It came out shaky but loud enough for everyone to hear.
Aiden froze. His friends froze. Even I froze.
What did I just say?
Their shock lasted only a second before it twisted into amusement.
“Oohhh, she finally talks,” one of the boys laughed.
“Maybe she wants you to touch her rougher,” another added.
Aiden’s face changed. The fake laughter stopped. His eyes darkened like a storm cloud.
“What did you say to me,” he asked quietly, that fake quiet that was always worse than yelling.
“I said don’t touch me,” I repeated, even if my knees were already shaking. My heart was beating too fast and I could barely breathe, but I did not look away.
A mistake.
Aiden’s hand swung before I could blink.
The slap hit so hard I lost balance and crashed onto the dirt. My cheek burned and my ears rang and for a second I actually thought I might pass out.
Tears spilled from my eyes without my permission.
Not because of the pain.
But because every single person standing there watched.
They watched and did nothing.
Like always.
Aiden scoffed and clicked his tongue. “Look at you crying like a baby. This is why no one wants you. You deserve to be a common w***e for the pack.”
His friends burst out laughing again like it was the funniest thing in the world.
My nails dug into the ground as I tried to push myself up, but my hands were shaking too much. I tasted dust in my mouth and shame in my throat.
Aiden stepped forward and lifted his fist.
“Oh no no you are not leaving after embarrassing me. I’ll teach you properly,” he said.
I closed my eyes because I knew what was coming.
But instead of pain, a new voice cut through the air like a blade.
“Aiden Cross. What do you think you are doing.”
Everyone went silent.
Even Aiden’s fist dropped.
A tall man approached, wearing the guard commander badge on his uniform. Beta Elias Gray. The second most powerful wolf in Bloodmoon pack.
He arrived a few weeks ago taking over the Beta position, and has been overseeing seeing the pack for our new Alpha.
His eyes were cold. Sharp. Unimpressed.
“Instead of training to impress your new Alpha, this is how you waste your afternoon. Fighting an omega. Touching her. Acting like animals.”
Aiden swallowed, his cocky expression fading fast.
“Commander, I was just…”
“You were just slacking off,” Elias cut him off. “And encouraging your friends to do the same.”
He did not even glance at me on the ground.
Of course he didn’t. Why would he care.
He was here to enforce discipline, nothing more.
But his scolding was enough.
The trainees scattered like frightened pups, grabbing their weapons and immediately shouting training commands even though some of them could barely hold back their laughter.
Aiden backed away but not before grabbing my arm again and yanking me close.
I winced, feeling another bruise forming.
He leaned down, voice low and venomous.
“You belong to me. You hear me. One day I will get you alone and I will f**k you senseless. Then you will know who your real master is.”
My whole body went cold. Completely cold.
I could not move. I could not breathe. I swallowed hard because if I said anything right now, he would hit me again.
So I just ripped my arm away the moment he loosened his grip and ran.
I did not wait. I did not look back. I just ran until the burning in my chest felt like fire.
Behind me, Elias’s voice echoed across the yard.
“Aiden. Come get your punishment for slacking off.”
And just like that, everything stopped for a moment.
I stood there behind the shed, back pressed to the wall, trying to breathe through the shaking in my hands.
Trying to pretend my eyes were not still wet.
Trying to pretend that I was fine.
Trying to pretend that this was normal and I was used to it.
But deep down something felt different.
This humiliation felt different.
Today felt different.
And I had no idea why.
