Arabella sat in her chair staring out into the sunlit piazza beyond her house. She wondered what Carlo was doing, if he had made it safely back to Rome, and whether he had already boarded the airplane for the States. Then she stood and walked directly out the door. Thoughts of Carlo and what had transpired in Altamura in recent days made her think more about her family, and about what they had experienced. She had not visited her parents for a few days, since spending time with Carlo, and she wanted to stop by for dinner at their house. But before going there, she had a mission to complete.
