Chapter Four:A Deal Made

312 Words
Aria stood in her small kitchen, her hands wrapped around a mug of steaming tea, trying to calm the whirlwind of thoughts racing through her mind. Alexander Cross a billionaire, mysterious, and dangerously magnetic was sitting on her couch, watching her with an unreadable expression. “You don’t have to do this,” she said softly, her voice trembling. “You’re safe now. You don’t owe me anything.” He leaned forward, resting his elbows on his knees, and gave her an intense look that seemed to pierce straight through her. “Aria, you saved my life. That’s not something I can ignore. I intend to repay you… properly.” Her brows furrowed. “Properly? What does that even mean?” Alexander smiled faintly, almost as if it were a challenge. “It means I’m not going to let you disappear from my life. Not after tonight.” Aria's heart skipped a beat. She wanted to resist, to tell him that she didn't need a wealthy stranger complicating her already difficult life. But there was something in his gaze—something that made her hesitate and made her pulse race.“Look,” she said finally, “I’m just an ordinary person. My life isn’t… glamorous. I can’t—” “You don’t have to be ordinary,” he interrupted gently. “Not with me. I want to help you, Aria. Let me.” For a long moment, silence stretched between them. The rain outside had softened to a drizzle, but inside, her heart pounded as if it were creating its own storm. She finally nodded, though reluctantly. "Alright, but we’ll do this on my terms.” Alexander’s smile widened, and for the first time, Aria felt a small, uncertain hope. This was the beginning of something she couldn’t yet comprehend—but somehow, she knew it would change her life forever.
