EPISODE TWO. THE OPENING CEREMONY.

Today is the day I have been waiting for since secondary school , to become a doctor and have my own clinic. But I never thought my dream will come true sooner. I think am dreaming but everything looks so real. Am driving with my mom and dad. They are at the back seat chatting so happily like little children. I smiled at myself for that thought. My hospital is opening today, we are going there to celebrate. With friends and some business partners. This means some of my friends from secondary School are attending. Everything seems so nice and am very happy about that. All thanks to my dad. He is the best dad I, Adam Aidoo can ever ask for. My clinic is at Dansoman , that means 30minutes drive from our. Sooner than I expected, I stopped the car in front of my clinic. It looks beautiful . It is two storey building with every equipment a hospital may need. The ceremony is going on in front of the building. Some of the guest invited are already there. Some are helping themselves with a drink and others are chatting. Whatever thing they are doing it seems they're enjoying. My mom stopped me before I could enter."my son I cannot define the happiness in my heart right now. To have my only child as a doctor. I just want to congratulate you first before any other person" she said and hugged me. I hugged her back and whispered thank you to her ears which got her smiling.

"Congratulations" My classmate started shouting as soon as I entered. It feels so good to see them once again after so many years. It seems everyone has a career because they were dressed in expensive dress. That thought makes me feel good. This happiness cannot be compared to any other day. I gave everyone a hug, including the girls.

"hire me as one of your nurse" Stella one of my classmates said and I smiled.

" let's talk about work later, we are here to enjoy today". I replied. And she nodded.

After thirty minutes of my dad introduction to his business partners, I was finally called to give my speech and the reason for the celebration. I have been rehearsing my speech for a week now .I was a little nervous but this isn't the first time I'm going to give a speech. I walked to the stage with high spirit. I took the microphone from the MC, thank him and then start my speech" Good evening ladies and gentlemen. I welcome you here one more time. Thank you so much , I really appreciate your presence here." I said , the room was silence, so I proceed" I just want to tell you one more time, the reason we're here . We're here to celebrate another successful dream. This wouldn't have been possible without the most high God, therefore I say thank you Lord. My second thanks goes to those people I love in my life, mum and dad, I thank you so much for everything you have done for me. Your prayers, encouragement , and your advise. I just want you to know that am nothing without you. That's why am naming this hospital as The Aidoo's medical clinic. please continue to be with me" I stopped to take my breath but there were claps everywhere. My mom and dad were just standing there with tears filled in their eyes. I continued"My Last thanks goes to anyone who has been part of my life. And is still part of. I want to make it more clear this clinic is not for family or friends , but for everyone in the society. Don't hesitate to come for help when you need. We will be glad to offer. So please, I want everyone to enjoy, make Merry and let's celebrate this day. Thank you" There were claps everywhere in the room. As I made my way to where my parents are, all I could hear is congratulations. Life feels.

"son you didn't tell us you were naming the hospital after us. thank you so much" my dad said after hugging me

"That's a good speech you made over there" my mom said.

The rest of the evening was only for Merry making. I enjoyed myself with my friends. Everything feel so good. Even the sour Alcohol. Happiness they says is a direction not a place. I chose the right direction and my good decision is now paying me with happiness. I can't wait for the life ahead of me. I don't have to worry about,after all life is a journey that must be travelled no matter how hard the roads and accommodations. I can't wait for the next episode of my life.
