I woke up on the beach and started shivering from the cold air. It was pitch black. I looked to my side and didn’t see Victor. I got up and called out for him, “Victor, baby… Where are you?”
There was no response. I looked up toward the hill at the mansion, but I couldn’t see the house nor the guards that I knew Victor usually had standing guard around the property. It appeared a thick fog had engulfed the house, obscuring my view.
The last thing I remember was having an incredible night with Victor, celebrating our first wedding anniversary. The silence was deafening.
