I made my way down to Bella’s office to see her and, to my irritation, she was there cavalierly talking and laughing to District Attorney, Darius Hamilton. It was one thing to have this man be law enforcement with the real means to make my mafia organization uncomfortable, but it was another to have him there laughing and flirting with my newly single ex-wife, especially with their romantic past. I knew that every action that this man took was deliberate and calculated. Him being here was no mere coincidence. I walked into the office with a smile plastered on my face, pretending to be indifferent and unbothered even as I was thankful that I didn’t have my gun with me. Isabella gave me a matching smile that all but said, “Yeah and?”
My jaw ticked. I caught an arrogant smirk
