~Isabella POV~
Dr. Carol Durbin’s office was on the other side of the hospital, where the medical offices were located. She was a petite, attractive black woman who appeared to be in her late fifties. She had a calm, soothing voice which immediately put me at ease.
“Good morning Mr and Mrs Bernardi. I’m Dr. Durbin,” she said while she extended a hand to Victor and me.
I graciously shook it. “I’m so sorry for our lateness,” I said apologetically, trying my best not to look at Victor knowing that my face would undoubtedly become flush, letting out the real reason why we were late.
Dr. Durbin smiled knowingly and I could tell Victor’s and my little escapade at the clinic had already made its way to her. I could feel my face getting warm.
