I work well but I must look like a robot. I avoid Patty and I keep glancing furtively at Chris’ table while he’s ignoring me. It’s very strange... I feel like we broke up without doing it. I don’t want to break up with him. I swallow the pain that this idea causes and it almost chokes me. “Are you all right?” It’s Jaze. He asked the question without looking at me while preparing the order for one of the tables. “Yeah.” I’ll certainly not discuss my relationship problems with him. Our verbal exchanges have never gone beyond hi and bye and I’m fine with that. “It doesn’t look like it.” He insists, still without even lifting his eyes from the tray he fills with agile speed. This time, I don’t answer, I just watch him. Jaze is what you might call hot, though a bit too thin for my taste.
