Fiona’s POV
Ethan is here. All that means is, all my plans are going to go out the window. Any alpha with brains would accept the King’s niece and ask questions later. They would ‘accept’ the boys, and pretend to the world that they were the best mate possible. I have heard stories of how mates were treated when they were only accepted for their rank in the community.
Ethan sat down holding Spencer, who is ranting about his stitches and what happened. Ethan asks me what is going on, and I give him the short version. He then asks Isaac James and Alpha Andrew what had happened last night and what they thought of the situation. He seems shocked to hear that I had already informed my mate of the boys and that I had been raising them, but not excited to see that the mate had left after hearing about them.
“Where is he!?” He roars, startling Spencer, who got up and ran back to me.
“Ethan, he can not know about you! He needs to accept the boys before I even let him start to know about my ties to you! He was already scared away by the thought of the boys. I do not want him to accept me, just to get close to you!” I stand staring him down. Spencer hides his head in my neck. I know I should bring him back to the apartment, but there is no time. I need to get ahead of the wrath of Ethan.
“Like hell will I let this pup reject you!” He roars back, standing up to leave the room.
“Ethan, sit down!” I yell back. I needed to put his wolf in check before he did something he is going to regret. He sits begrudgingly back down on the couch and crosses his arms.
“I. have. A. plan.” I grit out. “I am going to give him one more chance, two weeks. I will make him stay here another week, and then I will go visit his pack. After two weeks we will decide. But he needs to accept the boys, or I am going to be the one rejecting him. I will not let someone gain power just because they want it!”
He finally agrees to my plan, and we discuss the details. He doesn’t look pleased, but I know he can’t argue.
“FINE. But one condition.” Ethan pouts.
“Do I even want to know…” I shake my head, rolling my eyes.
“Evan, the guys, and I get to babysit. We haven’t had enough nephew time recently.” He says with a grin.
“You are ridiculous.” I just roll my eyes.
“Sorry to break up this family reunion, but the meetings start in fifteen minutes.” Alpha Andrew breaks in.
I am still in what I slept in. I hadn’t known why James mind-linked me when I came down. I need to go get changed and ready to face the music with my lovely mate. Fifteen minutes later, I am dressed in a green work dress that Joey had picked out. I was handing out agendas to the different alphas and betas as they entered the ballroom that we had converted into a conference room for the day. Just as the night before, Alpha Cullin is late. I give his Gamma an extra copy for him and just walk to the front to sit next to Alpha Andrew.
Cullin’s POV
I feel like an i***t. I left my mate with a sick pup in her arms and ran to my room to hide. My brother being here was a big shock. I did not think he was going to show up. We talked for the next 20 minutes about what to do before I looked over at the clock.
“s**t… I am going to be late. The meeting starts in 10 minutes.” I growl under my breath.
“Cullin, I am dressed and ready to go. I will go to the meeting and see this mate of yours. You take the time and decompress. It will be better to have a clear mind when you apologize for being a complete ass.” Calix says standing up and heading to the door.
While we looked exactly the same Calix is always the more prepared. He is more level-headed, but more of a man-w***e than me. He likes to show off that he is older than me by 10 minutes. He did not want to come to this meeting until I met my mate, so why would is he so keen to go now.
“Why do you want to go now?” I ask sitting up from the bed, as he grabs the knob of the door.
“Because my little brother met his mate, and was a complete ass. I know how you are with women. I am going to help you fix it.” He says with a smirk, as he opens the door. I grab a pillow and go to throw it at him, but he slams the door before it even leaves my hand.
I did not want to know what he is going to do, but I also know that I am not even close to ready to grovel at Fiona’s feet for forgiveness for being a complete ass. I spend the next few hours contemplating what to do, and wait until just before the meeting ends to head down to the hall. I needed to find Fiona and apologize. 11 pups isn’t a small thing, but I am not giving up on my mate that easy.
Calix’s POV
My little brother has royally f****d up this time. He met his fated mate and left her without a word. I know he is not going to reject her, but he takes forever to come to terms with anything. Whenever there is a pack decision to make, he makes a pro and con list. I know that he takes the weight of the failure of our pack on his shoulders. However, no matter how much I dig I cannot figure out what is going on. I figured I would stay back at the pack while everyone was gone and get to the bottom of it. However, last night when Kaleb called me, I knew I had to come and help him.
I walk down the stairs and into the conference room. I am about 1 minute late, but nothing has started yet. I look up to the head table, and Blaine starts to pace in my head. He hasn’t moved in months, not since I made the decision to take a chosen mate. Then, I smell the delicious scent of marshmallows and chocolate.
“Mate,” Blaine screams in my head. He is jumping up and down and howling for joy.
The she-wolf looks over at me. She looks so tiny and has the darkest brown hair I have ever seen and the greenest eyes. She has a green dress that shows off the perfect amount of cleavage and leg. She looks away right away without even making eye contact.
‘Kaleb, who is the bombshell in the green dress.’ I link him hoping that he knows.
‘Dude. I wouldn’t go there…’He links back with a tone of warning.
‘Why?’ I question back in the link.
‘That’s Fiona..’ He says looking at me with wide eyes.
‘s**t!’ I yell in the link before shutting it down.
The next two hours of the meeting drag on. There are votes and arguments between the different packs, but the hosting alpha shuts them down with no problem. Fiona doesn’t make eye contact with me. Her wolf had to of told her, but would she realize I was not Cullin. We looked identical, even Kaleb had a hard time figuring out who is who every now and then.
I know the rumors of mates and identical twins have never been proven, but there have not been many twins in the werewolf community. I for sure didn’t know of any other twins. Today, when Cullin told me that Fiona has twin and triplet brother I was shocked. When he ended by saying that she has quints as youngest brothers. I didn’t believe him. I still don’t fully believe it. Now, here we are, and he and I have the same mate. I do not even know how to process this. Now I understood why he was hiding in the room.
It sounds like we are nearing the end when the hosting Alpha stands.
“Thank you all for taking the time to meet today, and process through the pack's concerns. I do have an announcement, not on the agenda. My old and dear friend Alpha King Ethan is here to visit. He will be available to any packs with questions or concerns the afternoon.” He booms out over the crowd, as the doors near the front table open, and in strolls that mammoth of a man that is King Ethan.
As the King strolls in, everyone stands and bares their necks as a sign of submission. He stands between the Alpha and Fiona and makes her look even smaller than I thought. She was like a little pixie, and in the green, she looked just like Tinkerbelle. Tink, I am going to call her Tink. I am going to win this girl's heart even if my brother can’t.
“Good Morning Alphas. I hope to be able to speak to each of you this afternoon. Sorry, it is such short notice. I did not know until last night that I was coming. It is great to be able to see so many Alphas working together in such away. Well enough with that. Let’s all go enjoy lunch.” He booms across the room.
I go and stand up to walk out of the meeting, and come face to face with Cullin coming down the stairs.
“We have to talk.” I try and whisper.
“About?” He questions before his eyes wander back to the door. “Fiona!” He screams.
I look over just as she turns and sees both of us. Her eyes got big, and you can see the wheels turning in her head. King Ethan walks out behind her and has the same expression. Finally, the most magical voice breaks the silence.
“There… are… two… of you.” Fiona stutters.
