We found a cheap tourist hotel about four blocks away. By cheap, I mean, we could afford a single night. Plus, it had a computer I could use to contact the attorney, to let him know when to expect us, which was lunchtime the next day. It wasn’t the Marriott down the block, but it’d do. It also wasn’t the dumpster down the block, so it’d do and then some. I plopped down on the bed, duly exhausted. Benny plopped down next to me. There was but one bed.
