I didn’t sleep. Cuddled, sure, but slept, nuh-uh. I didn’t eat breakfast, despite the fact that breakfast could’ve fed a small army. My heart seemed to be beating at a constant heavy-metal beat. Meaning, fast and furious, pounding loudly in my ears. Benny, of course, ate. And ate. And ate my share. And flirted with Matilda, who also seemed rather nervous. I wondered why.
