The Game Of Truth Or Dare

1430 Words
Marie Trust was such a big word even for Aiden to use, but since it was him; the guy with the bright smile that haunted my dreams and cool aura half of the boys in school wanted to emulate. What could possibly go wrong? After taking a few turns inside the darkened and empty school building. We ended up inside the chemistry lab, filled to the brim with a cloud of smoke from the vaping teens hooked in every nook and cranny of the place. One of them stood out, a blonde, tatted all over. She had a vape in between her lipstick darkened lips, sizing me up with evident suspicion. “Are you sure we can trust her not to snitch on us?” The tatted girls asked, not hiding her disgust for me. Even though this was our first time meeting. “Yes we can. Marie is my girl and she's with me.” Aiden responded, catching me off guard when he wrapped a possessive hand around my waist. “Let's get this party started!” A guy, clearly high hooted loudly, turning up the music which boomed off the walls. To the point I thought the lab would collapse on us. There was booze in surplus, junk food; my favorite addiction as well as a section for playing a variety of games. “Can I join in?” I asked the tatted girl from earlier, interested in the game of Monopoly she was indulged in. “I never took you to be someone that likes to play games. Then again, we just met.” She taunted, clearly not referring to the game. “On second thought, let's play something more interesting and fun.” She suggested, a coy smile creeping on her lips. “Guys… let's play the truth or dare game!” She howled amidst the blaring music, calling everyone's attention. “Who's in?” She asked, the music volume almost non-existent at this point. The number of people that turned up for the game came in their numbers and in no time the gaming area was choked up. Everyone converged in a round circle. Somehow I managed to avoid the first three to four rounds of being asked to perform a weird or outrageous task. However, I couldn't say the same for Aiden, the tatted girl had him cornered, ready to make him do her biddings. “I dare you to touch my boobs.” She ordered, poking out the perky, rounded boobs in his face through the fabric of her shirt. Aiden obliged, massaging her breasts with mostly the guys in the background hooting at him for a job well done. The tatted girl noticed me staring, whatever she saw in my eyes that had her grinning widely with mischief was most probably the reason why she made sure I got caught in her trap. “Truth or dare…” she asked, the entire lab going silent, everyone waiting for my response. “Dare.” I blurted out, instantly regretting my choice. “I dare you to kiss Aiden.” She ordered, signaling her head towards Aiden who wore a bland, unreadable expression on his face. “Time is ticking. And we don't have all day to wait.” She added, clearly enjoying my discomfort. Aiden on the other hand stared at me, the green in his eyes literally entrapping my soul. A part of me couldn't help but accept the fact that once my lips as much as grazed his, I would have no control of what followed after. Notwithstanding, I ignored the warning bell that blared loudly, throwing logic and caution to the wind as I willed my legs towards his direction five feet from where I sat. Without giving it a second thought, I placed my lips on his. At first the kiss was slow, gentle, almost too sweet to the point I could taste the sugary delight on my tongue. However the moment Aiden's tongue invaded the fold of my mouth, a moan loud enough for his ears only erupted from deep inside my throat. Even though the last thing I wanted was for him to cut the connection and withdraw his warm lips from mine. He did. And with that I was left high and dry, itching to pull him back to me and devour those perfectly sculpted bow shaped lips moist with my saliva and red lip stick. However the game had to go on, from the look of things, how the bottle never came to my end again. It was obvious another opportunity for my deepest heart desires to be made a reality was never going to happen. Midway into the game, a bright light reflected from the window. One of the guys hovering at the window, acting as the eyes and ears to alert us of any danger, whispered urgently, bending his neck just in time before the flashlight appeared again. “Code red… code red…” he howled, swiftly making an escape through the back window, the others dispersing in different directions. Aiden helped me first to climb out of the window the guy jumped from, following behind me. At some point during the escape, my breath caught in my throat, my pacing slowed down. If care wasn't taken, the security guards now hot on our chase would have had us cornered and all surrounded. “Leave without me… I'll be fine.” I said, gasping for air. “That's not happening.” Aiden responded and without warning, carried me on his shoulder like I weighed nothing. A whimper left my lips, the feel of his taut shoulder, a safety nest for me as he ran with the speed of lightning back to the basketball court. “That was a close one…” he pointed out, finding relief, probably a bit of adrenaline rush from the chase. “Remind me never to do that again.” I joked, climbing down from his shoulder. “Did you have fun though?” He asked, the smile on face slightly fading off. “Well… kind of.” I replied, a blush crawling up my cheeks when I stared at his lips. At that moment, when the tension between us grew, the air thick to the point that even a sharp blade couldn't slice through. Avery's voice infiltrated the night air, way before I could see her petite figure. “Marie Claire Jameson. Where the hell have you been? I've searched everywhere for you.” She howled, oblivious of Aiden standing in front of me. “I almost thought…” she cut her sentence midway, gasping loudly as she slowly glanced at me and then at Aiden. A look of realization etched on her face. “I'll see you around Marie.” Aiden said, leaving me to the mercies of my friend, ready to drill me of every drop of information. My weekend was uneventful, aside from jogging around the estate and staring outside my window to check if I could at least catch a glimpse of Aiden. Nothing new and exhilarating to sweep me off my feet caught my fancy. Finally it was Monday, the start of a new week and with its arrival, I found myself racing out of the house to catch the school bus. When I saw Aiden at the bus stop, hands shoved inside his trouser pocket, I waved my hand towards his direction, a friendly smile plastered on my face. However Aiden barely paid attention to me. He pretended like I was non-existent. And when the school bus finally crawled towards us, he entered without paying me a second glance. Somewhere between heading to my final class for the day and thinking of the birthday gift to get for Avery on her eighteenth birthday this week. I saw Aiden coming out from the swim class area. My lips parted open to call his name, but with the buds in his ears, it was obvious he wouldn't hear me even if I screamed my lungs out. Just when I was about to continue my walk towards my destination, already a few minutes late. I froze in my tracks when the tatted girl from the truth or dare game rushed towards Aiden, the two of them wrapping each other in a tight hug that was far from being friendly. Before I could evade being caught watching them with my lips hanging wide open. The tatted girl noticed me staring and without holding back, called Aiden's attention towards me. “Look Aiden… it's the fattie from prom.”
