That evening, Laurie went to bed early. Her injuries weren't only mental as she'd said to Alejandro, but laying alone in the bunkroom, she felt terribly sore all over. Her knees and elbows were stiff and tingly. Walking was a chore. She was asleep when the door burst open and the lights were switched on suddenly, blinding her. Pulling the thin wool blanket over her head, she moaned in distress. “Laurie! What are you doing here?" Candy's voice rang out in worry.
