Dawn's POV
It's been one week since the incident which occurs at the McDonald's food mart, and I haven't left the house since. It's pretty boring doing the same things over and over. My routine considered; sketching, scrolling through i********:, Netflix, doing chores. Etc
Lilly hasn't asked about the incident ever since I told her I don't want to talk about it, I feel terrible not telling her after she has been nothing but supportive. But I just don't want to worry about her, but I'll probably tell her later, so she can stop worrying about me.
I have decided not to let fear controlled me so here I am searching through online ads for available jobs when I heard the jiggling of keys downstairs.
What the hell! How is that even possible? I wonder to myself.
Focus Dawn, now is not the time for this someone is downstairs, I chant to myself.
Abandoning my phone I tip-toed down the stairs, but I didn't see anyone but I heard shuffling coming from the kitchen, I grabbed a flower vase because it was the first thing I saw.
Walking into the kitchen I saw Paige sitting on the barstool with two bags of chips, chocolates, M&M's, sour patched, and coke. Leaning on the door frame I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding.
"Ahem." Startled by the sound I looked up and notice that Paige was staring at me with confusion.
"Can I help you?" She asked looking at the flower pot in my hand.
"No, I thought you were an intruder," I blurted out looking everywhere, but I couldn't bring myself to look her in the eyes.
"Oh ok, well I'm having guests over, so I'm going through the pantries for snacks." She said gathering more snacks.
"Ok, I'll just go then and leave you to it," I muttered walking away.
"Do you want to join us?" She asked which surprises me.
"Thanks for the offer, but no, thank you," then I hurriedly make my way to my room. Arriving at my room I locked the door behind me and walk over to my bed, to continue my job hunt search.
It's been an hour since I continued my search, but I came up empty-handed, and the noise coming from the living room was somewhat irritating. Suddenly there was a knock on my door, I thought by ignoring the person they would at least stop and go away but now I was so wrong.
"Jeez, can you stop with the knocking already I'm coming?" With an eye roll, I abandon the warmth of my bed, unlocking the door I came face to face with the most beautiful pair of purple eyes.
His eyes were so purple I wondered how he even sees it was like he was staring through my soul, every secret I hold dearly was revealing to him. His dark black hair was a whole mess, but it makes him looked even sexier.
"Ahem, where can I find the bathroom?" His husky voice filled the air, it was coated with winter fresh, vodka, and cigar.
"Ah-ah- it's-s d-down there," Get a grip of yourself Dawn, you sound so stupid stuttering. I mentally curse myself.
"Thanks." Came his only replied. I watch as he makes his way to the bathroom like some creep, but God he's so memorizing.
I don't know what came over me but the next thing I know was that I was on the stairs going to the sitting room.
"Paige you never told me a hottie was home." Guy number one said.
"Whoa, Who's that?" Guy number two said.
"Why don't you introduce me to that friend of yours?" Guy number three suggested.
"She's not my friend," came Paige's response while she continued smoking her blunt and sipping on her liquor.
"She's right you know, my subconscious mocked" Shut up I retort.
"You're a freak no one wants to be friends with you" my subconscious laugh.
"I'm not a freak, shut up I shouted! Which happened to caught everyone's attention."
"Told you, freak."
"Are you okay?" The dark-haired man from earlier raised a question walking over towards me.
"I'm fine, I choked out," backing away from him when I felt someone's eyes glaring at me, looking up a gasp escaped my mouth. The girl who has been glaring at me the entire time was the same girl from McDonald's, who's clothes I'd set ablaze.
"Who's that?" I heard the girl from McDonald's lean towards Paige and ask in a whisper.
"She's Lilly's adoptive sister, she's living with us," Paige answered back in a whisper.
Snapping out of my trance I offered the dark-haired man a small smile and make way to the kitchen, what should I eat? I thought to myself, heading over to the pantry.
As I close the cupboard door of the pantry, I came to face with McDonald's girl, yes that's what I'm referring to her as until I know her name.
"I see we have met again," She said tapping away on her phone with sparing me a glance.
Not knowing how to respond to her, I just stare at her in my face void of any emotions.
"Are you just going to stare at me?" She asks glaring at me, "ugh, just what are you?" She then added.
"Dawn, Lilly's adoptive sister," I muttered looking at the floor.
"I know that Paige already filled me in, but that's not what I'm asking, I know you were the one who set my clothes ablaze." She state.
Feeling my heartbeat began to rise I attempted to step past her, but she blocked my path, "Could you excuse me?" I ask in a mere whisper.
"How did you do that? Without anyone suspecting a thing?" She solicits while playing with a strand of my hair creepily.
"I-I don't know w-what you're talking about," I replied feeling beads of sweat forming on my forehead head.
"Hmm, playing the dumb card I see," She said trailing her fingers down my cheek. Then she retreats from the kitchen leaving me pale, and with a horrified expression on my face like I've seen a ghost.
