Nikola POV I woke as if I were returning from Heaven. A strange sense of relaxation had come over my body before I fell asleep with Roni in my arms. She was far more astonishing than I had imagined. My wolf was calm as we inhaled her scent. My stomach reminded me that we had skipped dinner. I gently kissed my mark on her neck. I knew without the healing abilities of a wolf; she will take longer to recover. I felt her body twitch in response to the pain. Instantly regret washed over me. “Don’t feel bad, it doesn’t hurt, really.” Roni said rubbing her eye. “I wanted to wake you up gently.
