Selena's POV
My face throbbed, numb and swollen. The moment the blow landed, I couldn't even feel the pain, only a blur encroaching upon my vision.
"How dare you seduce Cedric?" she roared, her voice low and fury.
"You b***h!"
"Are you crazy?" I screamed back at her.
"What have I ever done to you? Why did you hit me?"
She threw her head back and laughed maniacally, her face twisting into a grotesque mockery of mirth. Even her makeup, the foundation, and mascara seemed to melt and drip down her face. It made her look less like a socialite and more like a demon clawing its way out of hell.
"How dare you act so innocent! Cedric wants to break off our engagement because of you! I'm going to teach you a lesson!" She lunged at me, clearly intending to make good on her threat.
