Chapter 8 I Am His Fiancée!

812 Words
While Cedric was taking the call, Selena sat quietly, waiting. "Cedric chose you?!" Suddenly, a blonde, blue-eyed woman wearing a tight strapless dress stormed over angrily, shouting at Selena without any warning, "You b***h! Why do you have to seduce Cedric?" The woman was accompanied by two other stylish women. The three of them acted as though no one else mattered, their attire exquisite, but their manners extremely rude. The other patrons in the restaurant turned their attention to the commotion, whispering among themselves. "Oh, looks like someone got caught cheating." "Looks like they're confronting the homewrecker! Is it the hottie sitting there?" "She doesn't look like the type to do such a thing." "You could never tell! His girlfriend is here, so it must be true, right?" The voices around Selena made her feel embarrassed. Selena was furious. She had never done that kind of thing in her entire life! Why was she being treated this way now? Selena looked up and glared at the woman in the tight dress, questioning, "Who are you? I don't even know you!" The woman across from her gritted her teeth, every word dripping with venom as she snapped, "I was supposed to be Cedric's fiancée! You're seducing my fiancé!" The women beside her chimed in, "Exactly! Do you even know who you are? A cheap woman trying to climb into Cedric's bed? Wake up! He's out of your league! Skank!" Selena laughed in anger. Who were these women? Why were they targeting her? And where was Cedric? Though Selena didn't want to argue with his "fiancée" in his absence, she couldn't just let them bully her like this. Selena stood up, preparing to explain, but before she could make a move, the woman across from her shoved her forcefully. "Ah!" Selena stumbled, losing her balance and crashing to the ground. The high heel couldn't withstand the impact. Her ankle twisted painfully. A red bruise quickly appeared. "Ugh!" Selena winced in pain, clutching her ankle, unable to get back up. "This is all your fault!" The woman in the tight dress smugly looked at Selena on the floor, still unsatisfied. She picked up a cup from the table and was about to pour it over Selena's head. "Stop!" Suddenly, a man's voice rang out. Cedric had just entered the restaurant and saw what was happening. He quickly rushed over to stop the woman. His eyes, which were usually filled with warmth, now burned with fury. He gripped the woman's wrist firmly with one hand and took the cup from her hand with the other, setting it back on the table. Then, he released her hand and pushed her aside. Cedric strode over to Selena, looking down at her on the floor with her eyes red from the fall, his heart aching. From the moment he met her, she had always been cheerful and smiling, and this was the first time he saw her so upset and angry. Seeing his suppressed fury, the two women panicked. They watched as Cedric knelt beside Selena, silently picking up her shoes, supporting her knee with his left hand, and lifting her in his arms. He carried her out of the restaurant without sparing them a single glance. Watching Cedric's departing figure, the woman who had earlier claimed she would become his fiancée was so furious that she wanted to strangle Selena. The woman who had mocked Selena for being unworthy of Cedric couldn't help but taunt her, "Wasn't that your fiancé? Why does it look like he doesn't even know you?" "Damn it!" The woman in the tight dress glared at the retreating figures, shrieking in rage. "It's all that woman's fault!" Meanwhile, Cedric carried Selena in his arms, feeling guilty. "I'm sorry, Selena." Selena didn't respond. She clung to Cedric's neck and suddenly spoke, "And thirdly, you can't date other women. Not before the child is born." She didn't want to be targeted out of the blue again! Her child shouldn't be subjected to such things either! Though Cedric was the one restricted in this arrangement, he couldn't help but feel a little pleased. He teased, "Sounds like you're pretty possessive." "I don't need the drama." Selena answered without hesitation. For some reason, Cedric felt a little disappointed. Suddenly, Selena's phone vibrated. It was a text message. After reading it, Selena happily jumped out of Cedric's arms. "Oh my God, my loan's been forgiven! What the hell? Woohoo!" Selena couldn't believe her eyes as she looked at the message. She checked it several times before lifting her head to look at Cedric, grinning, "Oh my god! How did this happen? This is the best news I've heard today!" She was so happy that she ignored the pain in her ankle, spinning in circles, joyful. Cedric couldn't help but smile, his eyes full of fondness as he watched her.
