Jamie smirked into his drink. “Really, Mason. I’m late for dinner once and suddenly I’m having an affair?” he said before tipping his glass for a sip.
“Are you?” Mason said.
Jamie looked him in the eye. “No. And it’s none of your b****y business.”
“The girls are asking me if Uncle Mason is reading them a bedtime story,” said Teagan, walking into the patio. She glanced at the two men and frowned. “Something wrong?”
“Nothing, sweetheart,” Jamie said, smiling. He put down his drink and stood up to pull his wife into his arms. He pressed a kiss on her temple. “Can I get you a drink?”
“Some wine would be nice,” she said, softening in his embrace.
