As Caprica had promised, she slipped an envelope containing the key to her apartment under Ines’s front door. Ines spent the morning moving her things to Caprica’s apartment, then cleaning up her old place.
She was getting ready to go out when her phone rang. Her heart was racing when she answered.
“Daria!” she said. “Thanks for calling me back. What’s up?”
“Sorry I couldn’t call earlier, I had a video conference,” Daria said. “Anyway. You got a new job yet?”
Ines was relieved. It wasn’t that kind of urgent after all. “No. I was going to start job hunting today after I get back from the supermarket. Why?”
