It was dawn already, birds sand their morning songs as usual. The cool breeze escaped through the tiny opening in Eva’s window. Eva laid staring at her ceiling for a while before abruptly changing her position to left and then to the right. She rolled restlessly on the bed before she sprang up suddenly. “I can’t marry him” she whispered to herself. She was about standing up but then she collapsed back into the bed, as she cried in frustration. “My dad wouldn’t take that!” She said, tucking her head into the pillow as her legs hit the bed continuously. Soon after she jolted up again but this time she was more determined. She marched out of the room. She paused front of her dads room, taking a deep breathe before she slid the door open. “Dad, I am calling off the engagement.” She said without hesitation. Her dad stood before a male figure. They seemed to be having a meeting before she stormed in. He looked perplexed as he stared at her. The person in front of him slowly turned back. Eva eyes widened as she confirmed his identity. Raymond. “Oh…. It’s good you’re here too.” She cleared her throat before speaking, mustering up courage to continue her sentence. “I am ending the engagement.” Her father kept silent, his expression unreadable. Just then he turned to Raymond, with an unconcerned look. “Please don’t mind her…. She’s probably reacting based on a nightmare.” Raymond smirked before they both went back to their meeting, flipping through files as they discussed. Ignoring Eva completely. Eva smirked in disbelief, “are you even listening to me….. I said I am ending the engagement.” Both Raymond and her dad, continued their former discussion. Eva clenched her fist tightly as her face twisted in disgust. She marched towards them, flinging the documents lying on the table. “I am done!” She yelled in frustration. Just then she felt a sudden smirk on her face. Her father had landed a hard slap on her cheek. Eva froze. Her hands gently caressing the spot. “You…you..” Eva voice cracked. She stared at him in disbelief as tears gathered in her eyes. “Do you think engagement is something you can just cancel when you feel like it?” Her father yelled back. Her ran his hand through his hair in frustration. Eva laughed bitterly. Her eyes caught Raymond who just sat still, watching the whole scene. Eva could scene a bit of satisfaction from his expression. She smirked in disbelief, “do you know he hit me?” She said in a lower tone. Her father looked at Raymond for confirmation but then before Raymond could say a word her father continued yelling. “Do you think you can just make up any lie just because you want to end you engagement?” He said, walking towards her. Her grabbed her by the arm as his eyes scanned through her body. “I don’t see any scar…. What prove do you have to make me believe.” Eva froze. She felt sudden chills run through her veins. “Prove” she whispered silently before laughing bitterly. “I hate you!” She screamed then ran out of the room, slamming the door loudly. Back at the casino, Ava hurried down the hallway. She slammed the door open, moved towards the wardrobe, packing all clothes into a box. Oliver watched her in confusion. “Where are you going, Ava?” Ava paused before rushing towards Oliver. She knelt down before him, Her hand gently slip through his hair. “We are leaving this place Oli”. She smiled softly, “I will be gone for a while and I can’t leave you here so I am taking you somewhere safe. You must follow me quietly.” Oliver nodded as he rushed assisting her with the packing. She came out of the door alone with a wide smile on her face, “hey guyzzzz!” She said laughing to the men who went around with arms. Some sat at a corner playing games, laughing and drinking. “Who’s in?” She said showing bottle of alcohol. The men laughed in excitement as she passed the bottles to each of them. Ava stood with a wicked smile as she watched them gulp down the alcohol. Soon after, their eyes went blurry as they lazily turned, trying to focus on their activities but where barely unconscious before they all fell into deep sleep. Ava watched them all with a smirk before she went back into the room. “Let’s go!” She said to Oliver, carrying her bags on one hand and grabbing Oliver tightly with the other. She tiptoed through the men laying almost unconscious on the floor. They both moved swiftly towards the door just then Oliver’s leg hit on of the unconscious men as he fell to the ground. The man jolted up immediately, Ava froze. Her eyes widened, her heart pounded as she slowly turned back. His gaze was fixed on her, “my love…. Don’t leave me.” He said drowsy. Ava looked at him in confusion, just then it clicked, he was probably still dreaming. Her eyes widened as she noticed he was slowly falling back to the floor, she rushed to him quickly, grabbing him gently as she assisted him in falling safely. She sighed deeply, turning back to Oliver as she held him tightly. Finally they exited the room. Ava held him tightly as they ran quickly towards the fence, she threw the back over as she bent, allowing Oliver to climb over her shoulder. Oliver was close to jumping over when a deep male voice called from behind. “Stop!” Both Ava and Oliver froze. Oliver dropped immediately, trembling. Ava help onto him tightly as she slowly turned back. Just then, her eyes widened in disbelief. “It’s you!”
