Chapter 36
Austin's Point of View
There was just so much to do before the meeting today. I was trying hard to get this paperwork done before they arrived. It was a treaty, and I needed to print that out as well. I had the last file in my hand when Angela came barging into the office, slamming her phone on the desk. I slowly looked up from the file I had in front of me, waiting for her to tell me why she was so upset. I think I already knew, but I wanted her to explain.
“Austin, I need a new phone. Is there any chance we can order one with a different number? I can’t deal with him texting me anymore. Either he calls and leaves voicemails or he texts. I can't stand this anymore. I mean, come on," she said. I couldn’t help but chuckle to myself. Then I smiled up at her, opening the drawer of my desk. I placed a phone box in front of her. She looked stunned, but then I told her, “I’ve been waiting for you to say something to me about this. I ordered it a few days ago. It's already activated and has the numbers you need on the phone, including mine. He won’t be able to find you. It's untraceable. The only way he can get that number is if someone from here gives it to him.” She ran over to me, sitting on my lap, and kissed me hard. Then she broke the kiss.
“I need to shower and hurry to get ready, but we will finish this up later.”
“Oh, my love. After they leave, you are all mine, and you will be begging for me to stop,” she giggled and said. “Oh, honey, you just have no idea.” Then she kissed me and ran up to the room to get ready. I took out her phone, then checked the messages. I read all of them. This man is crazy. Message after the message he sent, and the voicemails were disturbing. The things he would say to my mate. How he wanted to possess her and make her his again. I couldn’t take it anymore, and I threw the phone across the room. It hit the wall, broke into pieces, and dropped on the floor. I didn't want to hear any more of what he had to say to my mate. I was about to shift in anger. My wolf wanted to go after him. But Angela came rushing into the room to me. Getting up, I hurried over to her, pulling her close.
“That son of a b*tch,” I swear. “If he comes for you, I will kill him. Do you hear me? You are mine, not his.” I didn't really care at the moment if this hurt her or not. I marked her again, and she did the same to me. She told me that I was hers and she was mine. She didn't want him. I knew she hated him. She never liked him as her Alpha, either. I could smell her arousal. She placed my hand under her dress so I could feel her. Damn her. She knew they would be here soon. She is so going to get it.
Then I heard a link, so my eyes clouded over. They were here. Sh*t. I thought I could have a little fun before then, but they were here. Well, after this is done, she is all mine. She will be begging for me to stop. Taking her hand, I led her over to me. She stood beside me with her hand on my shoulder, while my Beta stood on the other side, and Tessa stood by Angela.
Then, the guards walked into the office with Alpha Tate and his mate Zexy. They held their heads up high. I knew why they were doing this; they had been attacked by rogues several times and had lost so much. They needed to hold their heads high as they had no help or treaties. This would be their very first one. I greeted them to my home.
"Alpha Tate, Luna Zexy, welcome to the Red Oval pack. We have a meal for us to eat after the meeting is over, but first, let us talk for a bit. Come and sit and get comfortable so you can read over the treaty. If you agree to it, you can sign." Alpha Tate nodded and sat down. His mate sat beside him, crossing her legs and putting her hands in her lap. She looked around the room while my mate watched her like a hawk, making sure she wasn't going to try anything.
"Alpha Austin, thank you for inviting us here. Our pack has lost so much due to these rogue attacks. I'm not sure if we could even handle another one. We put up the electric fence you suggested; it's so high they won't be able to jump over. The gate to enter is now steel; they can't force it open anymore. Our training has gotten longer, but I'm not sure what else to do. We are new to all of this. My father died due to the rogue attack, and I took the title right afterward. Good goddess, he is brand new to this, as is his mate." Sighing, I told him everything, down to what he needs to do with the pack, what jobs he needs to do, how to check for emails, and do the paperwork. I also told him what to do with the warriors, having them start training at five in the morning until 12 in the afternoon. He needs to build a guard station and warrior cabin. Also, he needs to build a new recruit house. We talked for hours. He looked at the paperwork, then he signed it, and I did as well. There was no money involved. I will be training him as needed, and Angela will be training his Luna. We all agreed to the terms. Once everything was done, we went to eat lunch, and then we walked them out.
"Remember, young one, if you need my help, I am just a video call away. I know you're new to all of this, but you need to get into that office and read everything. Your father might have left you a letter or two. Check the bank accounts, the paperwork, and emails. There might be some stuff in there you can learn. If you don't understand it, just video call me, and we will go through it together, okay?"
"Yes, sir. I wish my father was still alive to meet you. Thank you for being my mentor." They got into the car, and before they left, I gave him one last piece of advice.
"Once more than Tate, never go to another pack without at least three guards with you. It's to protect you and your mate. Maybe even a couple of warriors, so the Alpha will know you're well protected. I will see you soon. Have a safe drive." He nodded, thanked me again, and they sped off.
"Do you think he will listen to you?"
"I hope so because right now he looks so lost. He was shoved into this, and he had no training. I just hope I can help him."
