Aunt Maeve, Goddess bless her, sticks to her side like glue. Even in Alys’s sleep, Maeve stays with her, her gift as a dreamwalker coming in handy since Alys would probably be having nightmares if not for Maeve’s company, distracting and comforting her, even in her dreams. “Can’t you find them?” Alys asks hopefully as they walk along a tropical beach with pink sand and turquoise waters, the warm ocean breeze soothing her a little. “Maybe they’re not really gone—” Maeve shakes her head. “Believe me, I tried the very first night after we found out.
