The morning was in full swing as Tad walked up the main street of the Fort. Without Jackal to worry about, he could at least take some time to plan. The fort could not be called small by any measure. Flint only had near twenty of his men. Fevor had told him only seventeen, but Tad always expected to full compliment. Anything less would be a bonus. It would be hard to cover the entire wall with so few. There had to be more to it. Tad climbed the stairs on the wall to look out from the defensive scaffolding. Flint's men were spread out.
