Chapter 25“Is—is this a robbery?! We don’t keep much money up here!” he stammered. But it sounded rehearsed.
She shook her head. “Several days ago, the owners of that SUV ran a vehicle off the road in Oregon. They took a man from that vehicle and drove away with him. Since the SUV is here, I can only assume all three are here as well. Is that correct?”
His eyes bounced around the room as he looked for some mode of escape, but finding none, he kept up the act. “I don’t know what you’re talking about. I just work here. If someone did something bad, you can take it up with them, or, better yet, the police. But nobody told me anything.”
“Right. Okay. Either you can tell me where they are, or I’ll shoot you and go find them myself. Either way, I will find them. I think you know that I’m not
