I was beginning to worry that you’d run off.” “I still might, if you don’t tell me why you’re here.” He took a seat across from her and set his.22 on the table, just out of her reach, even with a lunge. “I gotta tell you, I don’t take kindly to people breaking into my home. And if you had a warrant, there’d be more than just you, correct?” She nodded. “Like I said, I’m not here to arrest you, Crossley. There is no warrant. Not that I would actually need one!” Chuckling, “That’s not exactly how DHS works. All we’ve got to do is label you a terrorist, and you’re ours. Constitutional liberties need not apply.” L
