Make Her Fall

~ • ~ • ~ IT was the first time she found herself getting insane with just a kiss. As cheesy as it might have sounded, Ayen's kiss had a different effect on her, which eventually gave her sleepless nights. In fact, she didn't even bother to brush her teeth that day. As disgusting as it could've been, but she wanted the remaining taste from the kiss to linger on her lips. All she could ever do was smile due to the craziness the kiss had on her. She couldn't believe the huge progress that was happening between her and Ayen. She wasn't complaining, she was only amazed to realize that it hadn't been long since she met her. In fact, Ayen didn't even want to befriend her in the first place. But now, they were too close to each other to the point that Ayen trusted her, wholeheartedly. It looked as though she had just won the lottery. She could not wish for something else until she had thought that maybe, all would work out right if she took their relationship to the next level. The romantic kind of commitment. Sadly, she didn't know how to properly court a girl. She had not done it before. The situation gave her the combined feeling of angst and rhapsody. It was so strong and insanely amazing at the same time. She called Aly but it was Caddie who answered from the other line. Her friends looked like they were having fun, and she had to ruin it. "Heathe! Join us here!" Caddie almost shouted against the noisy background. Not intending to get her eardrum busted, she put the call on the speakers. "Where are you?" "Clay House. Get your ass up here now." "Is Aly lush up again?" "Uhm... No! She's fine. She is actually dancing with some girls." The way Caddie giggled, she knew what was up already. "Alright, girls. Come to my place now. I have something to tell you." Caddie did not respond right away. Through the noise of the background, she thought that her best friend might not have heard her. She was about to repeat what she said when someone on the line interrupted. "HEY!" "Aly?" "Yes! Who else do you know owns this sophisticated voice?" Aly flapped cheerfully. She chuckled upon hearing through her voice that her best friend was already up to snuff. She couldn't have been more glad about it. She was not the Aly from the other night, whom she wanted to push toward the cliff's edge because she was being a nuisance. "Get here. I need to talk to the three of you." "About...?" "Argh! Just get here! Clay House is just a ten-minute drive, so I'm expecting you guys to be here after I prep myself." Not wanting to prolong the call, she pressed the end button. She strode towards the bathroom to take a shower. She was expecting that her friends wouldn't drive longer to get to her house because they were well aware that she didn't have the patience to wait. Knowing that her friends would arrive at any moment, she still went on for a long bath. They knew how she took time to stay in the shower, anyway. Thirty minutes had passed before she decided to get out and see if her friends were already there. She didn't look surprised when she saw them already in her room. Caddie was comfortably lying on the bed with a naughty smile plastered on her lips while busy tapping on her phone. Lois, on the other hand, was beside Caddie, doing something on her laptop which she usually does. She didn't mind if her best friends would muck around with her things. She wasn't hiding anything nasty, so she had nothing to worry about. Lastly, Aly was sitting by the window with a cigarette between her fingers. Her best friend appeared normal again when she turned to her and smiled. "What's up?" She asked, huffing, before carelessly tossing the cig out of the window. She glared at her. "This will be the last time I'll tell you about throwing your smoke anywhere inside our property." "Okay, okay." Aly threw her hands in the air. "Chill." She rolled her eyes at her before plopping down against the bean bag cushion. "I called you here because I need your help." "Let me guess, is it about another race?" Lois chimed in, but did not even bother to turn her head to her. She firmly shook her head as she tried to think of the right words to say to her friends. She was not embarrassed to admit the truth, but her friends would certainly go crazy if they heard her having a problem with courting. Because she was never serious about it until recently. Aly sauntered toward her with a trace of confusion plastered on her face. "Tell me if I'm wrong but I can sense that it's about a... girl?" That finally caught the attention of their other best friends. She was right to think that they were going to be surprised by the information. Nobody spoke even though questions and demands were already manifested on their faces. She let out a sigh. "There's really nothing to hide. You know how much I like Ayen. So... yeah. It's about her." Her three best friends eyed each other as if trying to mentally discuss what she'd said, while she fell silent in one corner. When they were seemingly done, they laughed simultaneously. She felt ashamed, which made her cheek flush bright red. She looked away but not as fast as Aly had noticed it. "Oh my gosh! Are you...in love?" Aly shrieked. She knew the answer, she was only being skeptical at this point. "I don't know. I'm still confused about it." Caddie and Aly couldn't control their emotions anymore when they both gushed over it. "Let's celebrate then!" Caddie exclaimed. "No! Not gonna happen." Lois's refusal earned confused stares from their two friends. Before they could lay out their questions she resumed speaking. "I mean, we can definitely celebrate, but not yet. Heathe called us here because she obviously had a problem. And we need to solve it first before, you know, painting the town red, right?" She nodded, thankful enough that one of the three had a clear mind to even analyze the situation. Aly and Caddie pondered about it and they nodded in sync afterward. "I think I know what's bothering you." Aly flopped beside her and even moved to get closer. "She's not like any other girls. It's difficult to speak the truth to her." She admitted. "How long have you known each other?" Caddie asked. "Three weeks, I think." "That's too soon for you to think that it's love." Lois, who never knew what being in a serious relationship was, commented. "I beg to disagree. Love cannot be measured by the length of time, as soon as you feel something different or magical, that's it." Aly justified before winking at her. She showed her a smile. Among her three best friends, she believed Aly the most when it came to having a relationship. "That's why you bruised easily, gulli." Caddie taunted without even realizing that she had hit a nerve. She must admit, sometimes they could all be brutal to each other without thinking about one getting hurt. Gulli was short for gullible. Although Aly fired back, she still saw that her eyes welled up for a moment. "Okay that's enough, let's focus on Heathe's issue," Lois interrupted. She might have also noticed the growing indelicateness between the two. "Well, I don't really see any problems here. It's not like you're a rookie when it comes to dating. In fact, just by confessing your flirtatious parlance, voila, you're already in a relationship. The only difference now is after a few dates with Ayen, you're going to be in a serious relationship with her. I don't think that will be a problem," Caddie explained. She even wanted to convince herself that there would never be a problem, but she was quite certain that it wouldn't be as easy as Caddie's statement. It turned out that all she could do at the moment was stare at her three best friends. They could've been helpful only if they would have been seriously listening. She was not mad at them, anyway. The issue was only stressing her out. "The thing is, it is not just about dating. I want to court her properly." She corrected. A lot of questions started to fill her head right away. Why did falling in love have to be so difficult? Was it really the time to steer clear of her nasty relationship habits? Was she thinking right? Was she not being impulsive? She didn't know the exact answer, but she knew one thing— being with Ayen was the only thing she could ever wish for. "I know. But, Ayen is not like the other girls. She deserves to be respectfully wooed. She deserves someone who will not fail to meet her expectations. Someone who will... not break her heart." "You're that someone. I know that." She met Aly's eyes and beamed at her. She was glad to feel that her best friend had got her back. "So, what's the plan?" Lois interrupted. "Of course, the make-Ayen-fall-for-her scheme," Aly said, which was agreed by everyone. ~ • ~ • ~
