“There are only three rules for these tests,” the old Sincalion, Lahore announces loudly, making sure every eye is on him. I swear I am still half asleep from how early they woke us up.
"First, cheating means immediate disqualification. Second, there will be six tests in total, each worth a single point if won. To win the goddess’s wishes, you must pass at least five of the tests.”
Murmurs rise quickly among the crowd, voices arguing that the number should be lower, four or three points for the win. The Sincalion waits patiently for the noise to die down before continuing.
“The winner will be granted three wishes by our goddess. However, because our goddess is generous even to the undeserving, the winner is allowed to choose to donate one of their wishes to someone else."
