Lisa POV
We arrived at the palace and drove around the back to where the entrance of the kitchen was. Each person grabbed a bag to carry in. Terry was the first to enter the kitchen and directed us to where to put the groceries. After putting up the groceries, I cleaned the King and Queen’s bedroom and then I went to the maid quarters. Before I could get comfortable on my bed, Aurora entered to tell me to go help with decorating the celebration for Prince Gray. I reluctantly got up and went outside to the garden. Fatima and Becca were already outside helping the workers organize the flower arrangements.
“How can I help?” I asked no one in particular.
“You can help put the covers over the chairs,” a lady said.
I walked over to a cart that was holding the covers and picked up a few to cover the chairs. I continued until all the chairs were covered. I looked around the garden to see that everything was complete. The blue and white color scheme against the pink, yellow, red, and white flowers of the garden was heavenly. I remember the many parties we had in our garden. I miss my palace so much. As I was reminiscing, I received a mind link from my brother to inform me that our father knows somewhat where I was. He was coming up with a plan to bring me back. I told my brother that I would run away again. He understood and that is why he was coming up with a plan for me to come back but not have to marry Collin.
“Father is not going to go along with that,” I said.
“He told me that if I bring you back, he will delay the marriage for you to get to know Collin. While you are doing that, I will continue to work on my plan to keep you from getting married.”
“Do you really trust that father will keep his word?” Our mind link was paused for a moment before Lance said anything. “You have a point. Father agreeing was way too easy. I was so focused on getting you home that I didn’t think about the outcome. He would do a double cross. Stay hidden until I can find out what our father is really up to.” I thank my brother for the information and to not worry. I stayed hidden this long, and I would continue to hide from our father. I told my brother that I loved him and cut the mind link. My wolf was angry and was ready to destroy something. I had to calm my wolf down so we could come up with a plan to leave, if I had to. I needed to get far away from this place. I was about to go into the palace to the maid quarters, when Fatima ran to me excitedly and talked a mile a minute.
“Lisa, Prince Gray is back and boy does he look sexy,” she said with dreamy eyes.
“I don’t know what type of training he did, but he looks so muscular and tan.” I smiled at how excited she was, and I couldn’t help but giggle a little. I guess she thought I should be just as excited.
“Fatima, he’s just a man.” I said waving her off.
“You don’t understand. I am eighteen now, and I can find my mate. I might be Prince Gray’s mate.”
“I hope he is because I am twenty-two and I haven’t found my mate yet.” I said with a little sadness.”
“I’m so sorry to hear that. I thought everyone found their mate at eighteen.”
“Some do and some don’t. My brother hasn’t found his mate either.”
“I thought you found your mate in your pack during your ceremony.”
“I thought that too, but during my eighteenth birthday, when it was time to find my mate, I sniffed and sniffed and my wolf never caught his scent. I might be destined to not have a mate.”
“Would the Moon Goddess really fate for someone to not have a mate.”
“Yes, she has done that to the Witches of Edinburgh.”
Fatima tried to encourage me and not to lose hope. After thinking of my fate, I hung my head down and went into the palace. As I walked past the maid quarters, walking with no direction in mind through the palace. My wolf caught a scent. My head immediately jerked up. My wolf yelled in my head “mate.” How can this be? I have been in this palace for two weeks and I have not once caught this scent until now. What is different? I thought and thought and then it hit me, Prince Gray. I clean his room everyday. It was cleaned before I came. That’s why I didn’t smell his scent. He’s been gone a month. The floors were vacuumed, sheets cleaned, and everything dusted. The bathroom was thoroughly cleaned. I never look in the closet or drawers. My wolf continued to yell mate in my head. I needed to go outside to get some fresh air and calm my wolf. The party was going to start soon, and I needed to get dressed because everyone was invited. I stepped outside and the scent was even stronger. My wolf followed the scent. I couldn’t get her to stop. She was determined to find our fated mate. I walked through the garden until we came to a small pond. There stood a tall, muscular, tan man with sandy brown hair. He had on shorts and was putting on his shirt, when he turned around with a look of lust on his face. I could tell he was trying to control himself. I could see his wolf was trying to emerge. I was trying to control my wolf as well. My mouth was dry and I couldn’t get any words to come out. I heard a low growl and I knew it came from him.
“I’m, I’m Lisa,” I stammered out.
“I’m Gray.” He said in a deep, sultry voice. I felt my knees go weak.
He looked me up and down. My hair was in a ponytail and I was wearing my uniform. He didn’t look pleased that I was dressed as a maid.
“You’re a maid,” he said a little shocked. He finished buttoning up his shirt and walked past me back to the palace. I stood there frozen not sure what to do next. I finally found my mate, and now I risk rejection. Do I tell him the truth or do I let him walk away. I yelled for him to stop and the next thing I know I am blurting out my confession.
“I am Princess Lisa of the Cambridge palace. I am posing as a maid because my father has arranged for me to marry a prince that is not my fated mate. I ran away from my palace and I have been hiding here ever since.” I took a deep breath hoping he would turn around and say something. I could tell he was wrestling with himself. He took a deep breath and turned around. I started walking toward him. He rubbed his hand down the side of my cheek to my chin and lifted my head. I stared into his brown eyes as he stared into my hazel eyes. He let go of my chin and turned to walk away. I slowly walked behind him not saying a word. I didn’t know what to think. I found my fated mate, and he might reject me because he thinks I am a maid. I headed toward the maids quarters as we entered the palace. Gray continued to walk down the corridor. I opened the door to the maid quarters to find everyone getting ready for the party. I sat on my bed and put my head in my hands.
“Aren’t you going to get ready for the party?” Fatima asked.
“I don’t think I’m going to go.” I said.
“What, you have to go. The Queen wants everyone there. She thinks of us as part of the family. You are part of the pack now.”
“I don’t have a dress to wear.”
“You can borrow a dress from me.”
We went to her closet, and I picked out a short sleeve blue dress. I put it up to my body and it came just above the knee.
“Thank you, Fatima, you are a good friend.”
I laid the dress on my bed. I took a deep breath and headed to take a shower. Thinking maybe the warm water would help me to feel better and clear my mind. I cried in the shower. My life felt like it was spinning out of control. I got myself together, took one last look at myself in the mirror, and walked out of the maid quarters to the garden. Everyone was already out there and mingling. I searched for Fatima; finding her talking to Prince Gray. My wolf wanted to take control, but I couldn’t let her. He’s mine. He knows that he is our mate. I could feel his eyes on us as we walked to find a seat at one of the tables. Everyone looked so happy.
“Lisa, you made it.” I heard Becca say.
“Yes, I didn’t think there would be so many people.” I said looking around.
“Oh, this is nothing compared to how many people are in our pack.”
“There has to be about a hundred people here.”
“They love our prince.”
My eyes lock on Prince Gray. He continued to talk to Fatima, never breaking eye contact with me. I feel my body heating up. I break our eye contact by looking away. Becca and I continue to talk until we are asked to dance.
“May I have this dance?”
“Sure.” He takes my hand and leads me to the dance floor.
“I’m Rex. I am a beta. I haven’t seen you around the palace. Are you new here?”
“Yes, I have only been here two weeks.”
“Then allow me the opportunity to show you around.”
Before I know it or could say anything, Rex is being pulled away by Prince Gray.
“Mine,” he growls.
Rex quickly ran away scared. Everyone is looking. Prince Gray pulled me into his arms, and we proceeded to dance. Embarrassed by the scene I keep my head down as we dance.
“I Thought you didn’t want me.”
“I never said I didn’t want you. You are driving my wolf crazy. You look beautiful tonight. We thought we would never find our mate. Then to see you dancing with Rex. My wolf was ready to kill.”
I smiled at his confession as he lifted my head to gaze into my eyes. He slowly leaned down and pressed his warm lips against mine.
“I’m trying to not lose control. I want you in the worst way.”
I could feel my body heating up from his touch. The music stopped and Queen Sierra asked everyone to take a seat. Prince Gray grabbed my hand and led us to the head table. His mother was smiling happily. His father stuck his chest out with pride. I guess everyone realized that we were mates. All through the dinner Gray held my hand like he was afraid that I might leave him. After the dinner, Gray stood with me by his side holding me close as he addressed the crowd.
“Thank you all for the support and love. Thank you for coming out tonight. The best part of this celebration is I found my fated mate, Lisa. Continue to enjoy the evening.”
Gray excused us from the table and we walked toward the palace. I had no idea where we were going until we came to the corridor that led to the bedrooms. I recognized Gray’s door. He opened the door for me to walk in. He closed the door behind us and he leaned against it looking at me in a seductive way. He slowly walked toward us. My wolf took control when he pulled us into his arms and began to kiss us. His hands moved down from my waist to my thighs. They slowly moved up my dress. I could feel him growing hard in his pants. We broke the kiss to get our breath. We were both breathing hard as our foreheads were pressed together.
“Why aren’t you wearing panties?” He saids lustfully.
“I only had the one that I was wearing the day that I left my palace. I can’t go shopping.”
“Do you know how turned on I am?”
Gray picks me up and puts me on the bed. We continue kissing. I feel him unzipping his pants and sliding them down. He slid my dress up to enter me. I feel him at my center pressing his way in. I wince at the pain.
“It will only hurt for a minute and I will give you time to adjust.”
I nod that I trusted him. He pushed filling me completely. Then he slowly moved in and out. I matched his pace. Our breathing turned into moans. He quickened the pace. My wolf growled wanting more. Gray’s wolf licked the spot where he would mark me. We reached our c****x. I felt exhausted. Gray got up and went to the bathroom to clean up.
“I’m going to prepare the bath for you.”
When he came back he had a towel wrapped around his waist. He removed my dress and bra and carried me to the bathtub. He gently placed me in the water. My wolf was at peace and she gave me back control.
“I don’t normally act like that. My wolf was in control, and she had the need to mate. I don’t want you to think that I am loose.
“I know that you’re not. We were each other's first. I wanted to make our first time special, but my wolf was also wanting to mate. I couldn’t control myself. The bond I have with you is strong. I want to mark you and make you mine forever.”
Gray helped me out of the tub and dried me off. He carried me to the bed where we laid in each other's arms.
