War

Gray POV I was still recovering from my injuries. Most of them had healed. I walked in the direction of where King Odin and Collin went. I could hear their voices as they came into view.  I confidently walked up to both of them, stopping upon hearing. “Your pack was to kill Prince Gray. What happened? You said that you could get it done. I practically gift wrapped him for you. This is what I get for letting a boy do a man’s job. I should have sent my warriors.” King Odin growled angrily. “YOU ORDERED ME TO BE KILLED.” I shouted. “You are the cause for the attack, when I left the counsel.” They both turned in my direction. My fists were balled up and my wolf was alert. “Yes, you were supposed to be dead. The marriage between Collin and Lisa is going to happen.” King Odin uttered. “Lisa and I are bonded. She has my mark. We are going to be married.” I affirmed. Just then my betas were at my side. King Odin had called his warriors who were now also in the foyer. Before I knew it, one of the warriors shifted into a wolf and jumped on my back. I threw the wolf off and shifted into my wolf. The others shifted into their wolf as we commenced to fight. I jumped on the back of one of the warriors and bit him hard on the neck, ripping his flesh. Another warrior was thrown into the table causing it to break. He got up to be thrown into the wall by Lance. I watched as my beta Chris was torn in two lying on the floor.  I increasingly grew angry searching for Prince Collin.   King Odin laid motionless on the floor and blood dripped from my beta James mouth. Prince Collin was backed up in a corner unable to stand. He had shifted back into his human form. I slowly walked in his direction and stood on my hind legs. I shifted back to my human form. The fighting was dying down as bodies laid on the floor. My betas approached my sides. Lance had the remaining warriors to stand down. “I should kill you.” I growled. “Your plan will not work now that King Odin is dead. You tried to have me killed, but as you see my betas and I are strong fighters. Surrender and I will spare your life. If you try to come anywhere near Lisa, I will rip your head off.” “I surrender.” Collin said in great pain.  The foyer was covered in blood and body parts. The walls were just as stained. Lisa ran with no regard pulling me into her arms. I hugged her back with just as much intensity.  Lisa POV Gray left minutes ago to talk to my father, and I was curious how that was going. I started down the hall, when I heard a loud commotion in the foyer. I sprinted down the corridor to see Gray’s wolf fighting one of father’s warriors. The strength he possessed made him look larger than life. Collin was fighting one of Gray’s betas. He counter blocks each of the beta’s attacks. Lance bit him in the side, ripping a chunk of flesh from his body. My father was also in the fight.  I was paralyzed to my spot. Lance ran past me shifting into his wolf joining in the war that was already in session.  Blood sprayed the floor.  The table laid in pieces. I looked to the right to see my father being torn in two. A scream escaped my lips and tears streamed down my face. I sank to the floor. I peered into the foyer to see that everyone had stopped fighting. Everyone began shifting back. Gray cornered Collin. “I surrender.” I heard Collin say. I rushed to Gray’s side pulling him into my arms getting his tattered, blood stained clothes on mine. He hugged me just as hard as we looked at my father’s body laying. “I didn’t want your father hurt.” He said sadly. “My father was part of the cause of this fight.” “I was willing to die for you, Lisa.” “I would be lost without you. I love you so much.” My mother walked in in a zombie-like state. She fell to her knees and let out a loud howl. Their  bond had been broken. Lance went to comfort her. I released Gray to comfort her as well. She dried her eyes with the back of her hand, and immediately stood up surprising us all. She had a different air about her that exuded confidence. “I need to get myself together. Lance you will now assume all of your father’s duties as King. We need to get this mess cleaned up,” said my mother in her royal tone. She sent a mind link to the pack letting them know that the King was killed in battle. Two warriors came to get my father's body so we could do a proper burial.  Several more people came to clean the mess. The bodies were taken to the morgue. Gray spoke to his beta James, who gave a head nod and left. We returned to my room to remove the blood from our bodies. Gray’s body was covered in scratches and bruises. He truly was an alpha.  I kissed every mark as the water poured over our skin. My heart was still sad, but knowing that I could be with my mate made my wolf and me very happy.
