I Can Not Lose You - Bucky Barnes

You had gotten yourself hurt, again. The avengers had been called out on a mission and you being you went along with them, much to their dismay. You weren't as good as the Avengers but you could fight pretty well.
Tony and Steve had told you your main priority was leading the public away from the chaos, making sure everyone got out safe. You didn't complain, you were happy as long as you could help.
You watched as they all fought against whoever it was that was attacking.
The whole street was covered in men in all attempting to kill anyone and everyone. You were very confused as to who they were and what they wanted.
You watched as Bucky easily took out four men three times the size of him as you carried a little girl out of a car that had crashed into a building. You took the little girl back her mother who thanked you, sobbing.
You turned around to see Natasha fighting off two men, not noticing the man behind her about to shoot. You bolted over to the men and kicked his gun out of his hand.
You weren't quick enough, he had more than one gun. The bullet hit you in the stomach. As you fell too the floor you heard an all too familiar voice scream your name.
You had hit your head, knocking you unconscious.
"Why hasn't she woken up yet?" A voice shouted.
"She hit her head pretty hard Buck, it might take some time." Another voice said, you were pretty sure it was Steve.
You could hear sounds around you but your eyes wouldn't open.
"We need to take her to the hospital." Bucky stated.
"There's no need, the nurse I have here has sorted her out. She's going to be fine, well apart from a headache." Another voice piped in, perhaps it was Tony.
"Come guys it's getting late, lets get to bed. We'll check on her tomorrow." A female voice said, Natasha.
"Someone needs to stay here with her, incase she wakes up." Clint said.
"I will." It was Steve who said that. "Bucky I know what you're going to say but you need to rest. I'll let you know if she wakes up."
There was some mumbling and then you heard a door shut.
You tried for hours too open your eyes but nothing worked. Steve stayed by your side, telling you stories about the war. You loved the storied he told.
You didn't count the hours you had been trying to open your eyes but before your knew it everyone came in asking if you had woken up. Tony took over for Steve so he could get some rest.
Everyone tried to get on with their day occasionally coming in to check on you.
Finally your eyes started to flutter open. Opening your eyes you saw that you were in your room. You coughed grabbing Tony's attention.
"Hey, sleeping beauty decides to wake up." Tony smiled.
"Water." You croaked.
"I'll go get you some and let everyone know you're up." Tony said before walking out the room.
"You're not even going to go in and see her?" You heard Clint shout five minutes later.
Next thing you knew everyone was waking in your room.
It turns out Bucky had carried you to shelter away from the chaos and then continued to fight. Of course the Avengers came out on top. The people they were fighting against were still unknown and they were all trying their best to find out.
Two days later you were back to normal, well sort off. You couldn't really do much since you had been shot in the stomach and had stitches. There was no real damage to you a part from that.
"Right sleeping beauty, we're all going out to try and find out who those d***s were. Bucky's on babysitting duties tonight. Have fun." Tony smiled before leaving.
You groaned. You thought that you didn't need a babysitter.
Bucky hadn't spoken to you since he found out you were awake and you had no idea why.
You and Bucky had an good friendship, at least that's what you thought.
Bucky strolled into the kitchen where you were sat, shirtless might I add, grabbing a bottle of water before turning round to leave again.
"Wait." You said, stopping him from leaving. "Why have you been avoiding me?" You asked as he turned around.
"I haven't." He responded in a monotone voice. You attempted to stand up but failed when you felt the pain in your stomach. "Don't do that you'll hurt yourself even more."
"Have I offended you or something? Is that why your avoiding me?" You asked ignoring him and tried to stand up again, succeeding this time.
"Just leave it okay." Bucky said going to walk out the room again.
"No Bucky I won't." You went to walk after him but being the uncoordinated person you are you walked into the corner of the kitchen counter. You let out a cry of pain as you fell to the floor.
Bucky ran over to you picking you up and taking you to one of the sofas placing you down gently.
"Why do you keep hurting yourself." He said as he carried you.
"It's not like I do it on purpose James." You groaned rubbing your stomach.
"Why do you do this to me. I tell you time and time again to stay out of the way but do you, no. Of course you don't, you go and get yourself hurt all the time." Bucky shouted.
"Why are you having a go at me? I don't do it on f*****g purpose James. Why do you care anyway?" You shouted back.
"Why do I care? Are you really asking me that?" He laughed. "Don't act like you don't know."
"Don't know what?" You continued to shout.
"That I have feelings for you, strong ones might I add." Bucky started to calm down. "Ever since I saved your f*****g life the first time I knew, I knew that I can not loose you."
"Right it is not fair that you are standing there all shirtless and s**t and saying you have feelings for me. It's like you are trying to kill me." You sighed looking at Bucky's toned chest. Bucky laughed lightly smiling at you.
"I'm serious you know." Bucky said turning back to serious.
"I know, and you do realise that I have feelings for you too." You smiled at him. Bucky looked shocked.
"Wait, what."
"I like you too." You said slowly.
Before you knew what was happening Bucky's lips were on yours. You were shocked at his forwardness but soon smiled into the kiss.
"Can you put a top on please, it's really distracting."
"Nope."
