The first time Bucky saw the world in colour was back in the 40's. One minute everything's black and white and then in the blink of an eye the world is filled with colour.
Bucky was ecstatic. His soulmate was close by. He went straight into town to show him all the colours and their names so he would know the colour of her eyes.
For days Bucky roamed around the place hoping to bump into her somehow. He didn't know how he would know it's her, he was just looking around for someone who looked like they were viewing the colours of the world for the first time.
Months passed and he still didn't find his soulmate. He never gave up though, he would search and search until it was night and the majority of people were asleep.
Bucky would often go to the local park and look at all the flowers and how each petal were a different shade. He would sit on the highest hill and watch the sun set. He loved how the colours blended together, the yellows, the oranges and the pinks. He would sit there until the sky was black.
Two years later Bucky still had no luck. He still wouldn't give up thought, he would find her. Or so he thought.
Bucky's world came crashing down when he woke up to the dull colour of grey. Everything was black and white once again. He was devastated.
Luckily the war distracted him from the hurt he was feeling. It distracted him from the thoughts of wether she has passed on or she was just far away.
Seventy years later when Bucky had regained the majority of his memories he thought about her. He wonder is she was still alive, if she had met someone else and started a family.
Steve lead him to the avengers tower to meet everyone but Bucky's mind was elsewhere.
The elevator doors opened to reveal the Avengers. Thor, Natasha, Tony, Clint, Bruce, Wanda, Sam and you.
Saying that everyone welcomed Bucky with open arms would be pushing it but they trusted Steve.
Bucky looked at everyone individually starting with Thor and made his way down the line. He finally made his way to you and with one blink the world changed from grey to colourful.
Bucky looked into yours eyes knowing you saw the same as he did. Colour.
