Soon after the morning tea break, Emma looked up to see her former supervisor approaching the counter. Puzzled – Sarah had been behind her in the coffee queue and said nothing – Emma raised a hand in greeting. ‘What can I do for you?’
Sarah leaned forward before answering in a curt tone: ‘Meeting with Colin in five.’
Emma felt her cheeks redden. ‘Oh dear, have I made mistakes?’
‘Your work is excellent as always.’ Sarah bent towards the screen. ‘Another matter. I’ll sort it with Tony.’
