I woke up to soft light pressing against my eyelids. There was a soft murmuring sound of people talking but it felt very distant. I was awake but still in a deep sleep. It was not a sleep of tiredness but a sleep of giving up. I felt so dead inside I didn't even want to return to the reality. It was as if a lifeless body laid there on the hospital bed.
