After telling him to back off, I felt like a burden had been lifted from my shoulders. He had no reason to keep trying to be friendly with me. Axel was in his office, so that’s where I went. When I entered, his eyes lit up.
“Hey, have they left?” he asked me.
“Yes,” I replied, taking a seat. He was working on his computer, probably on some paperwork related to the kingdom. “Everything is back to normal, huh?” I said.
He nodded his head. “Yes, thanks to you.” He looked at me. “I am so lucky. You sped up the investigation. Protected the palace from a bunch of rogues who managed to sneak into the territory. Without you, for sure, we would have been doomed.”
