Death Orders and Escape

Madison's POV :
I landed on my chest against the rough wall as the guards threw me into Alpha Jacob's chamber. They locked the door behind me. I didn't run or cry anymore. I felt numb and scared.
'Why did you do that? ' I asked my wolf.
'I can't let other women touch what's mine. He thought he could use us and throw us in the trash. That's not how it's supposed to be. '
There was no use arguing with my hothead wolf who was going to get us both killed in a few hours. Jacob was angry at the attack and Luna was confident that I would not see the light of another day.
I sat down on the floor and cursed out my luck. My body was trembling with fear of the unknown. What was death? What would happen after I die? Would it hurt me?
I had to distract myself from these thoughts or else I would go crazy.
A huge painting of Alpha Jacob with his late father Alpha Anderson was hanging by the bed. Beside it, another one in which Alpha Jacob was eighteen and was already in the university.
Why did Moon Goddess make me his mate?
I laid down on the cold hard floor and covered my ears to go deep silent. Is that how death feels?
Hours passed with me being in the same position on the floor. Nothing happened. I could bet that I rarely heard a sound in the corridor. I must have fallen asleep because the chamber had turned dark this time when I opened my eyes. Maybe they had locked me here forever until I was dead from starvation and thirst.
But I heard footsteps outside the chamber. Someone was really angry and impatient.
"She couldn't survive her fatal attack! Cassandra is dead! "
My heart skipped a few beats. I stood up immediately and walked to the door to listen carefully to what the maids were talking about.
"What are you saying? Cassandra is no more… Alpha Jacob must be angry. " Someone added.
"He has ordered to kill Madison by stoning her to death. He will finish the funeral and then get back to her. She is going to suffer a lot. "
My legs turned wobbly and weak. I couldn't hold myself without any support.
I killed my sister. I knew she would have killed me too if my wolf hadn't intervened. But I wasn't like her. I should have controlled myself. Her life was worth more than my anger.
I ran behind the giant couch and hid there. I didn't want to suffer a painful death. Why couldn't he just shoot me?
'Moon Goddess! Please save me! '
I heard the sound of door unlocking and Luna Sophia came inside.
"Stop hiding! You can't escape death. "
I covered my mouth to stop myself from making any sound. Yet, she found me and grabbed my arm in such a painful way that I cried out.

She snarled, " Jacob is on his way. In the next two hours, you will be dead. Do you understand? "
I closed my eyes and fell on my knees.
"Please, Luna. " I begged.
"Why did you lie about the mate bond? " She shouted.
"I didn't lie. I am his mate. " I answered.
"No, you are not. A low life like you who doesn't know what royalty is can never take my place. You deserve death. "
"No… "
She kicked me away, " Girl, stop crying because it's not going to change anything. You killed Cassandra. "
I saw Ada entering the chamber with a black gown in her hands. She glanced away quickly as soon as her eyes landed on me.
"Luna, I brought the gown for her. " She said.
"Good. Dress her in black. "
Luna Sophia walked out, closing the door behind us. Once we were alone, I ran to her and hugged her tightly.
"Ada, they want to kill me. "
She pushed me away roughly, " As they should. You always liked him. Didn't you? How could you get so jealous that you killed his mate? I can't believe I called you my friend once. "
Her words hurt me more than anything till now. She hated me. I could see it in her eyes. The very thought of me looking at her made the bile rise in her belly.
"He mated with me last night. My wolf turned feral. She doesn't understand the world yet. "
Her eyes softened. She touched my arm.
"Mady, you know he would have never selected you. Why didn't you just reject him? "
"I couldn't, Ada. The scent, heat and everything made me crazy. I didn't want to be Luna. I still don't want to be here. " I hugged her.
She patted my back and I felt a sense of relief once her strong protective arms were around me.
"They want to stone you to death. How would I see that? I can't see you dying. You need to Run. You have to run far away, Mady. A place where no one will ever find you. "
I looked into her fierce eyes. Her hands were holding my arms firmly.
"But how? There's security. "

I still couldn't understand how my escape would be easy when I was on the most wanted list now. But Ada was sure of her plan. She grabbed one empty diary page and gave me a pen.

My hands were still shaking from all the shock and fear. I tried to hold the pen but it fell.
"I can't, Ada. Is it important? It's not like he will forgive me. "

I put my signature on the end of the paper and she immediately put it away on the table.
"Hurry up. "
I followed behind her as she peeked outside the chamber. Once she was sure that there was no one outside, she held my hand and took me with her. We hid behind the pillars, tables before finally making our way out of the Royal compartment of the pack house.
"Ada, why are you putting your life at risk? You shouldn't help me. " I said.
"You are my friend and I can't see you being beaten to death. "
I remained quiet after that as she carefully evaluated the exit points. We were finally in the back of the pack house where the trucks full of export items were parked. All while, I was sure a guard would stop us or even Luna herself would find me missing from the chamber.
She checked the trucks and pointed at the one with red color.
"Hide inside those boxes. They will take you out of the pack borders. "
I nodded and gave her a final hug. She cried watching my face for the last time.
"Thank you, Ada. Please take care of yourself. "
"You too. Don't ever come back here. Forget about everything. Change yourself, your name and everything. Just never come back. " She said, touching my hands.
I watched my pack for the last time. Trying to keep it memorized in my head. All my memories, good or bad, remain here. My mate with whom I spent the best moments of my life wanted me dead. I had no reason to stay here. It had to end. This phase of my life until eighteen would be long forgotten.
But I knew Jacob, he was a bully. He would never stop looking for me. And I would have to be always on the run for the rest of my life.
"Goodbye, Ada. "
"Goodbye, Mady. Don't ever return to this hell. "
