Brandon never finished his sentence.
Orion's fist connected with his face before the words were out.
The force behind it wasn't just Orion's. Logan's strength poured through his knuckles, and the impact was brutal. Brandon's skull snapped back. His body hit the stone floor of the pavilion hard enough to c***k the slab beneath him.
He lay there, blood running from the corner of his mouth, one hand pressed to his face, staring up at the ceiling like he couldn't process what had just happened.
Orion didn't look at him again.
He closed his hand around Isolde's wrist and put his other arm around her waist, pulling her firmly against his side. Then he walked her out of the pavilion and straight through the hotel's side exit without stopping.
Brandon stayed on the ground.
