"I said I'm leaving."
The fake smile disappeared completely. "You walk out that door and I will fire you."
I picked up my bag.
"Then fire me," I said.
I walked out.
Behind me, I could hear him saying something, his voice getting louder. I didn't slow down. I didn't turn around. I pushed through the door and kept walking.
The elevator opened. I stepped in. The doors closed.
