(Isolde's POV) Garrett's phone buzzed again. He glanced at the screen and his whole face changed. The cold, closed-off look he always wore around me - it just melted away. He answered the call and turned toward the bathroom without a word to me. The door clicked shut behind him. I stood in the middle of the bedroom and stared at that closed door. I didn't need to hear the conversation to know who was on the other end. I already knew. I just didn't have any right to say a single thing about it. A few minutes later, the door swung back open. Garrett had changed into a fresh shirt. He had his car keys in his hand. He walked straight past me toward the front door. "Where are you going?" I asked. "Out." He didn't slow down.
