Alex scowled. “Yeah, well. So has she when we helped the Actuals recue Katherine. I just don’t understand why she still treats me like a child.”
“She’s protective. And maybe trying to make up for all those revs when she couldn’t be. But she’ll come around.”
Alex nodded, then grabbed another magazine for the assault rifle.
We figured it was safest to start with planting charges before dealing with the cruiser itself. But we’d only placed one of the four charges Katherine estimated we’d need when it became clear our quick job wouldn’t be as simple as we’d hoped.
“Hunter, I think we have a problem,” Katherine called over the comms.
“Yeah, I know. We’ve seen some signs of crew from the cruiser. We might have ourselves a fight to get their computer core.”
