" Nana, you have a visitor and she is waiting for you, " his mother said, and eyed the girl beside her son, which didn't go unnoticed by me.
"Mom , who is she and where is she?" He asked his mother.
" She said her name was Adoma Garr and she is ......." He didn't wait for his mother to finish her sentence before he cut in.
"f**k!" He swore, then added " Mom, tell her I am not here. . I will go to KK's house after I take her home .' he pointed at the girl in his arms.
"Why should I when you are still here in this house in front of me?" Mrs Fosu asked her son.
" Mom, please do this for me, your own son. Okay, bye." He said and got ready to go but I bit him, to it.
' I didn't come all the way here to go back without talking to him about why I came here'. With this thought in mind, I walked to where the three were standing, which was not far from where I sat.His mother saw me but didn't tell him .
" Hi NK, my love, I miss you." I said behind him and he turned around with surprise written all over his face.
"Nana Kwame, who is she and why did she call you affectionately and even say you are her love? Are you cheating on me?" The lady asked beside him with a hurt expression on her face.
"No! Baby, I can't cheat on you. She is .........." I didn't give him the chance to finish his sentence before I shut him because he hurt me with his words.
"Adoma and you, who the hell are you?" I asked.
"Very, his girlfriend." The lady answered, giving me an annoying look.
I smirk . No one dares to raise their voice at me, not even mom. "Well, get lost, miss . Because the man you're calling your boyfriend got me pregnant."
"What the hell?" I was Nana Kwame. "What the f**k are you talking about, ma'am Adoma "he asked, facing me as his so-called girlfriend looked at us .
"Yes, Nana Kwame, I'm pregnant and we both know you're the father of my child." I said, putting my hand on my tommy , an attitude I had come to grow for the past two weeks ago when I found out I was pregnant.
"What? How can you be so sure that's mine?" I scoffed at him, offended by his words.
" Did you even think about this when you took my first time? You are the first and only man I had anything to do with sexually . You didn't even use protection and you dare to ask me , how can I be so sure? " I swallowed
He frustratedly ran his finger though his hair. " You're not kidding, are you?"
"Do you think I will joke about this? I slanted my eyes.
" Nana Kwame, so it is true. You cheated on me. "We heard a small voice say and we turned around, then saw his girlfriend still standing there with tears in her eyes. Oh no, I have totally forgotten her present here. I didn't want to hurt anyone.
" Baby, i'm ......" He tried to say, but couldn't finish as his girlfriend didn't want to hear the rest because she ran away totally hurt. I thought he would run after her and go and apologize, but no, he just shut his eyes for a few seconds before opening them. He exasperatedly looked at me.
"What's your plan? About that." His eye drifted to my still flat tommy.
"I want to keep this innocent child and you have to take responsibility for our child,,Nana Kwame,"I said, looking him in the eye.
" So what do you want me to do?" He asked.
"Marry me." I answered.
" Marriage! " he exclaimed. " You must be kidding. I'm not ready for that, but I can father your child if you want. " he said, meeting my eyes.
"Oh. But what I want is for you to marry me.You are the cause of this. I didn't ask you to come to my house so late at night and make me do what I never planned on doing." I said. "I can't get pregnant out of wedlock, without a husband, Nana Kwame." I quickly brought my hand to my mouth when I suddenly felt nausea.
"I will do anything, even if it means paying you. What do you want me to do, so you' ll agree to marry me? Name it," I asked.
"Fifty million dollars, can you ?" he said, smiling.
"Fifty million dollars? Consider it done." I assured him.
"I have to think about this. Can I give you the answer tomorrow?" He asked.
" Okay, I will be expecting a positive answer from you tomorrow then. Because you put me in this condition. I never beg you to come and make a move on me. Bye." I said and turned to leave, only to find his mother standing there, smiling wide at me as if she had won a lottery.' What the hell is wrong with me? I totally forgot that his mother was still there and could hear our conversation.' I thought as I walked towards the entrance where she stood.
" Thanks ma'am, I will be taking my leave now. See you some other time. Bye."I said
"You are welcome dear. Nana, won't you send her home? You know she is pregnant and shouldn't go back home alone?" I said.
" Thanks ma'am. But you don't have to worry about me," I said.
" Why not? You have my grandchild there." She said, pointing towards my tommy.
"I came with my sister and she is outside waiting for me." I said. Well, the sister I was referring to is my nanny's daughter, Adobia, who is now my adopted sister. Nanny Akuaa is just like mom who has no one. When she died a year ago from a brain tumor , mom brought her home and she has been a very wonderful big sister I never had. Adobia is four years older than me.
"Okay, take care of yourself and that of my grandchild. Bye . " Nana Kwame's mother said, waving her hand at me..
" Bye", I waved back and walked out to the car where Sister Adobia stood waiting for me.
We got into the car and she drove us to the hospital where mom had been admitted. Mom has been on dialysis for eight months. Adobia has been a great help since. She was the one managing everything before I graduated and took over from where he stopped.
We stayed with her till late evening before going to my apartment with Adobia to rest for the night.
