I knew when I got to school the rumours and whispers would follow me like ghosts, haunting me. I had no friends at school. Heather, the popular girl, had taken care of that when I first started at Rosewood High. She had personally broken me down, to such a point that I began self-harming myself. The thin scars on my wrist are permanent proof. The stupid thing was I believed her. I believed that I was fat, ugly and overall useless, I let her and her group walk over me until I was so broken that everyone else bullied me too. My parents still don’t know about what happened and my brother hasn’t told them because I asked him not to. Now, I had made up my mind. I was going to stick up for myself. I should of died in that accident but, I didn’t. I would be damned if I let anyone take that away from me. Pulling into the carpark I felt everyone’s eyes on our car. “You ready for this?” my brothers words pulling me out of my cyclone of thoughts. “Nah” I laughed and sighed at once, “But I don’t have much choice now do I?” With that I opened the door and pulled myself out of the car.
Heather’s POV
Ivy got out the car with a look of determination etched on her face a fleeting shadow of pain crossing it momentarily. Everyone’s eyes were on her and I didn’t like it not one bit. Her brother, Chris, followed her out pushing his mop of messy black hair out his eyes. He walked around the car to take her bag from Ivy, so she could handle her crutches better. His toned arms were just visible beneath his white school shirt and I admired his fine ass in his grey school pants. Damn, I was so going to hit on that this year. Flipping my long brown hair over my shoulder I marched towards my target who was Ivy of course. I was well aware of my girl followers are flanking me on either side. I cut in front of Ivy ‘accidentally’ kicking her crutch out from underneath her as I went. “OMG, Ivy! I’m so sorryyyy!” I purred drawing out the last word so she would know I wasn’t sorry at all. She looked up at me from the ground, pain in her eyes but also determination. This was new. Normally she would look away or run off crying. Looks like I’m going to have to teach her who’s Queen all over again. I stepped forward offering her my hand to help her up and at the same time I bought my heel down on her toe. Man could she squeal! I removed my foot quickly before anyone saw what she was whining about. Chris bent down and hauled her to her feet. “Be careful Chris, lifting heavy weights could damage your back.” I added looking Ivy straight in the eye before putting my hands on Chris’s bicep.
Ivy POV
“Be careful Chris, lifting heavy weights could damage your back” Heather informed Chris placing her acrylic claws on his arm. It was a dig at me. She wasn’t concerned about Chris at all and the look she shot me after confirmed it. She wanted to get in my head again. Not this time b***h! I thought savagely as I reached down to collect my bag off the ground and swing it over my shoulder. My ribs groaned in protest, indicating that my pain killers were wearing off fast. I stalked off head held high and shoulders pushed back. No one was going to see that she had got to me, not even a little bit. I ignored the stares that were directed at me but as much as I tried I couldn’t ignore the whispers that followed me to class.
