Chapter 5

295 Words
My mouth drops open as a stack of papers is slammed in front of me. I stare in shock at the giant stack before turning to look at Jordan.  "Um are these for me?" He looks at me as if I was the stupidest person he'd ever met and I fiddle with my skirt regretting asking my question. I stand up and fix my skirt.  "Where's my work station?" He points towards an office next to his, a glass door separating the office. huh doesn't speak much. I pick up the stack and walk towards the glass door, trying to balance the stack in one hand to open the door and that was a big mistake. The papers fall out of my hand and onto the floor. I quickly drop to the floor to pick them up rambling a million apologies to Jordan, who just sat there with an amused look on his face. I feel my skirt rising up and I pull it back down picking up the last paper. Placing the stack back on his desk. I fix my clothes and open the door before picking the stack back up. Just as I am about to walk to my office I hear Jordan speak.  "Welcome to the company Miss Williams"  I can hear the stupid smirk in his voice and I curse him out...in my mind, I'm not trying to get fired on my first day come on.  "Thank you Mr Steel" Walking into my new office, I close the door with my foot and put down the papers. looking around the room. I let out a loud sigh and mumble quietly to myself.  "This is it, Callie, you've made it" I stop myself for squealing out in happiness and sit down in my  chair, spinning around a couple times before getting to work.
